Her favorite Christmas carol is “I'll be home for Christmas.” When she was apart from her family, this song made her think of the people she loved.

She finds it hard to shop for her dad. He has everything he needs and every year he tells Beth the same thing: “Get me a Lowes gift card and a belt.” How many belts can one man wear?

She is already looking forward to spring.

Yes, she spoils her grandchildren, but mostly she just likes to smother them with kisses.

Fruit cake, yes or no? “Absolutely NO. That stuff doesn't look like it has any fruit I know of.”

When she was younger, she loved to ice skate and go sledding but now she is content watching the grandkids do them. But she still gets on a snowmobile!

One year she made a chocolate pie for Christmas dinner dessert and she didn't realize one of the main ingredients was expired. It was awful. Everyone was spitting it out. Since then, her Christmas Mission has been to serve the BEST homemade chocolate pie EVER. And she has.

f In Ireland, children leave a pint of Guinness out for Santa Claus. (As insurance agents, don’t get us started on this!)

f Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer was conceived by department store Montgomery Ward as a marketing gimmick.

f Rudolph almost didn’t have a red nose; at the time, a red nose was a sign of chronic alcoholism and Montgomery Ward thought he would look like a drunkard!

f Rudolph was almost named Rollo.

f Some reindeer do have red noses, a result of densely packed blood vessels near the skin’s surface.

f “Silent Night” is the most recorded Christmas song in history, with more than 733 different versions copyrighted since 1978.

f Meanwhile, “White Christmas” is the best-selling song of all time.

f More currently, Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is considered to be the most popular Christmas song.

f According to Forbes, the highest-grossing Christmas movies of all time are Home Alone, How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Jim Carrey and The Polar Express.

f In 17th century Europe, sherry was the primary ingredient of egg nog and it was used to toast health and prosperity. It was primarily consumed by the well-to-do because milk, eggs, and sherry were scarce commodities in Europe at the time. When the brew was brought to the New World, colonists used rum from the Caribbean instead of sherry because it was considerably less expensive. And, so, the rum version quickly became a popular drink for people of all classes in America.

f The Christian observation of Christmas is set aside to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. The date of December 25th was widely accepted as chosen in the fourth century shown in a Roman almanac that lists the death date of various Christian bishops and martyrs. The first date listed, December 25 is marked: natus Christus in Betleem Jedeae: "Christ was born in Bethlehem of Judea.”

Simply call our office or visit our website and make a payment by clicking on the Make a Payment page and finding your company listed. That is a direct link to your company and you can safely make a payment from there.

There are companies that will complete the transaction for you, but they are charging you a fee -- usually around $5 -- to do that. There is simply no need for you to do this. If you find yourself paying a fee, it means you are NOT on our site or on your company’s site and you are -- probably accidentally -- on a third party’s site.

If you are asked to pay a fee, we suggest you back out of that site, go to our website and start over. You can always call us with any questions.
