The Global Citizen Campaign was a marketingcam-

paign tagged as 6 Weeks for the world. It was designed

for the purpose of sharing stories of those individuals

who went on exchange from the 1st of July 2015 till to-

day and to all use their stories as a means of inspiration

to raise more people who are willing to also embark

on the Leadership transformation journey through

Exchange. Within the first month of the campaign,

a total of 15 stories were published, discussions were

held internally and also we hosted the Member Com-

mittee Vice President responsible for Incoming Global

Community Development Program in Kenya in one

of our discussions. An outcome of this campaign so

far is the fact that leaders of our different Local Com-

mittee are more interested in the program and are

more than ready to convince more people to go for ex-

change. However, the campaign still runs until the 31st

December 2015 and by this time, we are hopeful to

have matched at least 50 Exchange Participants (EPs)

to different opportunities around the world waiting for

realizations by the winter break (February & March).

The Global Citizen Campaign Launchby Onome Ahorituwere,AIESEC NEWS

One of our exchange Participants story shared during the course of the campaign. From left its Dariah John, Talent manage at AIeseC in mzumbe on her exchange in egypt.

From the 1st of July to the 31st of October 2015, the total number of

out-going exchanges realized by AIESEC Tanzania is 46 which simply

means life changing experienced was delivered to a total of 46 Tanzanian

citizens. However, Zanzibar Institute of Finance and Administration (ZIFA)

as well as Zanzibar school of Health(ZSH) both if whom happens to be just

a partaker of our program contributed to 33% of the result. 9 experienced

were delivered in Mozambique, 4 in Malawi, 1 in Rwanda and 1 in Uganda

making it a total of 15 experiences. These institutions are promising in the

achievements of our goals and as regards that, plans are in motion to con-

duct a feasibility study to ensure that AIESEC can have an office within the

premises of Zanzibar.

The Bus Campaign

The bus campaign happens to be an initiative to realize 50 exchange participants in Kenya and they in-turn send 50 volunteers to Tanzania. Discussions have been held as regards this. Opportunities in Kenya have been made known to the different local committees here in Tanza-nia and accommodation cost in Kenya has been reduced from over $300 to $100 for the purpose of this country to country realization.

The incoming Global Community Development Program (iGCDP), is an op-portunity for young people to develop entrepreneurial and responsible lead-ership by creating positive impact through volunteering abroad to challenge themselves to do something outside their comfort zone and experience living and working abroad with cross-cultural teams and families. The experiences range from 6 to 8 week. From the start of our term till date, we have delivered 127 leadership experiences plus contributed positively to the society in the 5 main regions where we operate (Dar es Salaam, Moshi, Arusha,Mwanza and Morogoro).Volunteers or Exchange participants (EPs) worked on different project which strive to:•Improve literacy through working with teachers and local community mem-bers to achieve greater levels of literacy,•Eradicate poverty Supporting skills development and planning / capaci-ty-building to help communities grow and trade their way out of poverty,•Improve Health & sanitation through working with local communities to im-prove sanitation and health to reduce disease.

AIESEC in Tanzania has given me more than work experience and provided me with the support I needed. They taught me to appreciate the diversity we have in our world and a way to apply it in healthcare settings.

~sarafim Rahadi, New Zealand

In September 2015, I arrived in Tanza-nia. I had no idea what was waiting for me even though I had put effort into researching as much about the country as I could. I found a place that would surprise me every day. I met people of fantastic diversity and with life stories that touched me and taught me lot about hardships and overcoming difficulties, but also about loyalty towards family and friends. I saw the many aw-inspir-ing beauties of the country, its beaches and its landscapes. But the memory of the warm and welcoming smiles of its people will remain my dearest memory.

Participating in AIESEC’s International Congress 2015.AIESEC annually hosts an International Congress to discuss its global direction, steer change and forge meaning through youth leadership. International Congress is when a network of 100000 mem-bers are represented by a select few, great power is vested in the 800 that could make it. With that great power, the 67th annual International Congress India 2015 commenced to reinstate the very idea of the world’s largest youth-run organization, AIESEC - peace and fulfillment of humankind’s potential. Presenting to you 21st to 30th August 2015 - 10 days where borders vanished, colors con-verged, ideas conquered and history - remade!Participating in International Congress is every AIESECers dream, but not only that, this is very sensitive for Incoming Global Community Development Program since it’s the best platform for all country partnerships, meetings and-collaboration to be made and very important because ex change participants are most likely to volunteer in countries which have partnerships with their-

Hello! Welcome to this section. As you read, I am sure you will be able to grasp what it is that we are actual-ly doing. It is so moving to see the kind of belief and passion companies we work with have for us to deliver such leadership experiences. This was formerly known Global Internship Program. In summary, the Global Talent Program enables com-panies to access international talent / interns across the AIESEC network while it enables these young individ-uals to develop professionally. This also help the com-panies with sustainable international human resourc-es as well as the CSR plan. AIESEC believes in youth leadership development - the leadership elements we strive to instill in youths through the program are be-ing Self-aware, Solution-oriented, Empowering Oth-ers and World Citizen. The AIESEC team here is responsible to create intern-ship opportunities through companies that agree to partner and work with us. Many of the interns this year are engaged in sales & marketing, finance, accounting, HR, administration among other fields. And also work closely with the company to ensure the interns actual-ly are developing and meeting their expectations to see them grow in their career.

Flash back Storiesname of Intern: Krista Chase from CanadaAIESEC contacted Krista in July 2015 to learn about how she is actually doing now after almost 10 years since her internship in Tanzania.2006-2007 Internship story at Standard Chartered Bank in TanzaniaWhat were the best moments in regards to the job you did at the company? My unit coworkers. I am in contact with them up to this day. My neighbors as well. I became a part of the Ngoma’s family. I cooked for myself 3 times in six months. The rest of the time I spent with my neigh-bors the Ngoma’s or else with Abdallah Singano, Samwel Muro or Eric (neighbors around the corner). Also, my coworkers would make me work in Swahili only and use English only as a very last resort. I was social with my work mates, eating lunches and being with them after hours. We all became very close and the whole bank came together on my last day for my farewell. I was close with the CEO as well as the VPs of different departments. Herman Shaw, Regina, Sa-baSaba, manager in treasury etc. What message do you have for the company you worked with?I worked with one of the most generous and caring groups of people who accepted and loved me exactly how I am. They allowed me to take on special proj-ects and venture into other departments. They have me a start in banking which helped me get a career in commercial banking in Canada. Commonly, people work over ten years in retail banking here to try to work their way up into commercial. I started there. My trade experience is used up to this day, helping clients negotiate irrevocable letters of credit and uti-lizing bank guarantees to help grow their business.

A saying goes by the phrase, “Once an AIESECer, always an AIESECer.” Thank you all Alumni out there for always watching out for us and guiding us in our operations. We did see last year that our network manage-ment can yield way more. This portfolio seams to scare or has been of less interest to most AIESECers in Tanzania. This situ-ation has to be changed, thus why I took this role to show my fellow AIESECers in Tanzania that they should not fear. BD is the portfolio that gives someone an opportunity to get some external per-spective, strengthen communication skills , widen your networks and far most it’s the most practical and reality portfolio that lands you into different challenges and have a platform of learning , fail-ing, failing again and stand up to move forward after series of evaluation . Q1 was not a smooth ride; it was like putting a puzzle all together. But from the mistakes learned the start of Q2 has been good and working for it to be better.

MC Archer’s team stand “Face your fears, let your story inspire the world” it has always been my motivation point. In BD life there are lots of fears, fear of rejection, talking with people of high profiles, meeting corporates expectations, dealing with a dissatisfied partners, retention and increas-ing more partners have always been a fear, but I was ready and I am facing them in my every day BD life, through Qualities of Leadership Develop-ment Model I am able to face these fears and de-velop to that leader that the world needs.

Attending IC 2015 in India was the most impact-ful and marked a mile stone for my BD experi-ence. Meeting over 30 MCVPs BD and BD man-agers from all across AIESEC network, got time to share ideas and learn from each other. Before I felt alone but from that engagement I have found a family that I can rely on and make my leadership experience awesome. My other amazing moment was YouthSpeak Forum, it was so impactful and engaging as well, Seeing all those young people engaging in different discussions to talk about matters that press them and coming out with an action at the end was so impressing. AIESEC Tan-zania is going to held YouthSpeak Forum in May 2016 and it’s going to be an impactful as well.

MC – LC Summit. This was another moment after IC where MC Archers had to bring IC learning’s back home and get aligning with LCs. I had a great time with VPs taking them through sales simula-tions and get them to know about sales and en-courage them to face their fears, and I can’t wait to hear their amazing stories. With the coming events hopefully they will create a good pipeline for BD in Tanzania and change the status quo.

The fear behind Business Development Portfolio

It is encouraging seeing young talents taking a bold step in seeking more experience by being part of the Organizing Committee for our two biggest events this year, Career Fair and Youth-Speak.For Career Fair we are expecting to have 30 companies in which 5 are national partners. We are bringing uniqueness to CF this year by ex-tending our audience to more careers according to company needs, we are becoming more cus-tomer centric. We are also going to use Bridge project as a buildup to CF event, by using iGCDP interns and companies to deliver different topics on career guidance to both University and High school students. This will build anticipation to-ward the event.

Sales One on One SummitDuring NIS in Dodoma BD portfolio organized a summit called sales 101 . The main aim was to spread Sales knowledge to members and let them know that Sales is everything in AIESEC for or-ganizational growth and financial sustainability. It was a good initiative as 25 delegates signed and participated fully. After the summit every one understood why they should do sales and how to do it, they went through sales simulations and mock sales and got their feedbacks . I can say we are now having a generation which does not fear Sales and their ready to face their fears and write stories which will inspire the world.

These are brave individuals who took the bold step to make sure that the Youth Speak Forum and Career Fair are happening. Its our belief that they represent us well and with love we wish them all the very Best.

One among the focus for AIESEC in Tanzania this year is to build a good pipeline for members on facilitating and training. Due to that we decided to conduct the three days seminar and name it train the trainers (TtT) which was conducted at kigamboni Dar es salaam from 15th Oct to 18th Oct 2015.More than 18 delegates who are now good train-ers attended the seminar and get an opportunity to develop their facilitation skills and presenta-tion. We are so believe that the seminar was of life changing for them and gave them a reason to be good trainers in the society, we are looking for-ward to see them takes different facilitating op-portunities for them to pose the knowledge to the actions and create their facilitating experiences. Thanks for Alvis Kashaija for taking his time and be our chair for the seminar we appreciate and his presence was one of the motivating factors for the delegates as he gave more real life example for the delegates to understand the reason for them to be-come good facilitator.

Conference and seminar is one among our way of learning and developing, as east Afri-ca Region once in a year we always have our conference called pioneers which aims to bring together AIESECers of East Africa and other part of the world together to discuss about the growth of the region and many other stuffs. This year this congress happed in Ethiopia and some of our members got an opportu-nity to attend it and create their lifetime ex-perience. We so believe these members who represent AIESEC in Tanzania will be am-bassadors for others who didn’t make It to the conference and share the knowledge.

It always happen once in a year as we recruit new members for the long life of an orga-nization as we now for any organization to develop it needs people. For us has AIESEC we normally deals with university students and recent graduates and as much as uni-versity education is of three to five years and each years new people are jion these universities that why we recruit each year. Here in AIESEC in Tanzania we have six lo-cal offices allocated in Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Mwanza, Morogoro and Dar es salaam for six different universities. And this month all of our local offices will be conducting re-cruitment. We aim to engage every young person for different youth to get an opportunity to join us and develop their leadership potential. We want to use this opportunity to invite each university student to join us and ex-perience the amazing leadership experience we are providing. Any young person can join us through our local offices which are Mzumbe University (Morogoro) ,University of Dar es salaam, Institute of Finance Management, St. Au-gustine University of Tanzania(Mwanza), Moshi University and MAKUMIRA Uni-versity (Arusha).

Prepared by Arnold KathoFirst I would like to say thank you for taking your time and visit this section, I hope after reading this section you will have a clear picture of what we are doing as talent management team for AIESEC in Tan-zania.Basically Talent Management is a responsible department in AIESEC for the human resource assurance and development, we are here to ensure that organization has man power and those man power are developing day after day for their personal achievement. We as AIESEC organization are responsible and we aim to develop leaders this world needs. And in order to develop those leaders we need to create a good environment for each person to go though so as he/she can develop and become the person we want and also he/ she wanted to be as well. And that is the reason of we have human resource department to ensure that those members who took a bold action and join our organization are developing day to day. This year one among our national target is to make sure we manage our pipeline with the right skills and people who can take this organi-zation to the next direction, also to prepare environment for members to generate good culture that can manage the performance of the orga-nization for the future generation. Due to that we have different activ-ities which will be conducted to ensure that is happening, by starting I would like to invite you to go through few updates we have shared.

What we do in Talent Management national Conferences

The Stories we Write to Impact and Inspire

It was the best 6 weeks ever in my life and it was spent in Uganda. I worked on an Entrepreneurship project and I got to understand how this aspect of life makes most people grow their network and achieve a lot more. One thing I got to understand again is that we all have the same heart, it doesn’t matter where you are, what you are or who you are, the whole world is just one small global village. I am a lot thankful to AIESEC for providing me such a wonderful and exiting experience.

I got a motivation to participate in the exchange programme and chose China as my destination which would give me the new experience I want-ed. I got to China and I volunteered in a project which involved teaching in a secondary school and working with different NGOs around the com-munity.All I wanted was an experience in China but it turned out that I got more than just what I wanted. While in China I made a family of friends from 91 different countries who completely changed my mindset about the world. This is the best experience and best moment of my life. Now I can call myself a Global Citizen, thanks to AIESEC!
