People trafficking Nowadays, we are facing one new issue

which has grown faster than other

problems.

“People trafficking” has become very

lucrative, even sometimes better than

trafficking drugs or sex.

As per Wikipedia, we can define it as:

“It is the illegal trade of human beings for

the purposes of reproductive slavery,

commercial sexual exploitation, forced

labor, or a modern-day form of slavery”

Most of the victims are women or children

and the reason of this is that they are more

susceptible to be threatened or to be forced

to do things which they do not want.

However, not all the cases are like this

scenario, it usually starts when the victims

have deceived and/or told they can get a

better job or they can be famous or live in

another countries- with no requirements-,

in some other cases they even have to pay

to be part of these group and when they

find out the truth it is too late.

Victims feel guilty or do not want to affect

their families then they “learn” how to

handle it, sometimes… Some others cannot

and they just commit suicide or get in

drugs, causing more

problems for

themselves.

People usually live under miserable

conditions with no money, no food and no

water sometimes.

They are slaves in debt to their “owners”,

they have to work and pay them for the

food, water and shelter. They have no

choice; it is basically to live or die.

Some additional factors related to this issue

are: poverty, lack of studies, economical

issues, sickness and also ambition.

Victims usually have to become prostitutes

or just do tiring tasks for free.

There are some of interesting cases where

people trafficking is also combined with

drugs trafficking when these people are

used as “drugs transporters”, using their

bodies to transport the drugs.

It might sound unbelievable but it is hard to

defect these trafficking networks since

these organizations are very well structured

and they use their influences or “buy

“them. Corruptions aggravate this issue,

giving permissions without checking.

Currently, many studies and investigations

have been done, and now we got more

information and we are more prepare to

face these problems.

European Crisis Target

Analyzed from a macroeconomic point of view the crisis of the European Union and its impact

to the world.

Introduction

The European Union originated, in order to create a political, economic and social with the

member countries. Also in order to have greater collaboration in legal, social as well with the

mission of working together to create security policies and projects that strengthen this

integration, and thus the whole region. At present this good idea is being frustrated by the

irresponsibility of some leaders.

Spain to begin employment as an 8% unemployment rate and labor force excluding people who

are in training or self-employed. The culprit, is the generous subsidy system that keeps the 6-

month salary for every year worked; now 4 months a year, I believe.

Importantly, to obtain a net growth of employment in Spain, it requires a GDP growth of 2% or

2.5% according to the latest study on "Okun's Law" by academics from the University of

Valencia.

If we use the growth estimates for Spain IMF, Eurostat and World Bank, which are objective and

non-politicized institutions like INE, Spain did not create net jobs by 2016. This is a maintenance

Elizabeth Hartney, an addiction guide,

described addiction as “an uncontrollable

habit of using substances in large amounts

but also persons can develop addictions to

behaviors, such as gambling and even quite

ordinary and necessary activities for

example eating”. Nowadays, some kind of

addiction can descontrol people even in

ordinary activities, they must be thinking

those actions are normal but do not realize

they have engaged in a complicated life.

The top ten addictions of this century are

plastic surgery, internet, sex, love, tanning,

shopping, exercising, teeth whitening,

television and work. People become addicts

when they feel some kind of fulfillment

after performing certain habits or activities.

At that moment, their physical appearance

and personality begins to change. Family

members can realize the problem when the

person starts sacrificing free time, friends,

relationships and complying with necessary

activities.

Addicts constantly suffer serious stress

problems; stress is the emotional and

physical way in which we respond to

pressure. An expert Guy Slowik (2011)

mentioned in an article the “TARP” method,

there are many activities and methods that

can help manage stress like humor,

hobbies, meditation, and biofeedback and

massage therapy. Another way to release

stress is through the practice of recreational

activities which are often done for

enjoyment or pleasure.

This expert, Elizabeth Hartney, gives

suggestions on how to overcome

addictions: “People who know someone

stuggling with an addiction often wonder

how to help addicts. The decision to treat

and get help for someone you care about

who has an addiction is never easy.

Fortunately, with support, they have a

greater chance of overcoming their

addiction. Each situation is unique, but

there are some general guidelines that will

help you approach these tasks”. I agree

because the family needs to support the

addict to overcome the addiction also is

very important consult to a specialist they

will recommend different kinds of methods.

I think that one way to fight against

addictions is by education people about

them. I believe it is very important to be

able to recognize the symptoms earlier

because most of the times we do not give

importance to some common activities such

as watching TV or exercising until they are

out of control and become harmful.

people

As human beings, we tend to excel in

different areas not just for personal

satisfaction but also to give a good example

to others. The text mentioned seven habits

to be an effective person. I think it is

important to say that sometimes we do not

know what our strengths are and or how to

develop those strengths and overcome our

weaknesses.

I must say that I agree with the seven

habits, firstly because they do not only

focus on you and how you can be effective

and meet your goals; they is something

else, we must also focused on relationships

with others because we are not alone in this

world and personal relationships are

essential to idealize new goals and live new

experiences.

“Being proactive” or having personal vision

was the habit that caught my attention the

most despite its basic information the

content is very comprehensive and

complete and it help me to learn that we

need to have initiative and always make

things right at our workplace. Furthermore,

it helps to realize the time that is used or

wasted and prioritize what you really need

at work.

As student I think that when you have a job

you should try to be the one who makes a

difference through their actions and with

them to strengthen your team as well as

the organization you work for. Sharing new

ideas and try to apply them ideas at work,

always focus your mind on a goal, know

how to deal with difficult customers, and

try to listen to others and to be heard.

I found the article interesting because we

do not know how to face up our problems,

do not analyze the situations before does it

and if you really want to achieve something

you have to work hard and do it. Being

positive as much you can and applied every

day.

Well, my goals at the beginning of this

course were get good grades in all my

subjects also be responsible and

punctual in every project and try the

best. Is the last level of English that

means projects, grammar, vocabulary

and activities are going to be more

difficult than the others levels.

However difficult

does not mean

boring, implement

creative projects is

a smart idea

because you can

learn and at the

same time you can

get some fun,

that’s why I

consider my

performance

positive, I do all the

tasks on time and if

I do not understand a word I will ask.

I spend two hours doing my homework,

read the grammar paragraphs and

reading I have

been giving all my commitment and I

hope that is reflect, but this last week I

spent more time because there are

many projects and also the final exam.

I have been achieving my language

goals because I feel a strong

connection with English for that reason I

would like to improve my pronunciation,

practice more verb tense, learn more

vocabulary and put in practice is very

important because if you

do not practice every day

the effect is not going to

be the same.

The main obstacle that I

still feel I have to

overcome is for example

my oral expression,

because sometimes I do

not express my ideas

clearly but in my head are

clear. But as I said before I

need to practice to

improve my English and is

important for my future.

hurry-up world of busy parents, school pressures,

incessant lessons, video games, malls, and

competitive sports. We usually don't think of these

influences as stressful for kids, but often they are.

I have found that yoga can help

counter these pressures. When

children learn techniques for self-

health, relaxation, and inner

fulfillment, they can navigate life's

challenges with a little more ease.

Yoga at an early age encourages

self-esteem and body awareness

with a physical activity that's

noncompetitive. Fostering cooperation and

compassion—instead of opposition—is a great gift to

give our kids.

Children derive enormous benefits from yoga.

Physically, it enhances their flexibility, strength,

coordination, and body awareness. In addition, their

concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation

improves. Doing yoga, children exercise, play,

connect more deeply with the inner self, and develop

an intimate relationship with the natural world that

surrounds them. Yoga brings that marvelous inner

light that all children have to the surface.

When yogis developed the asanas many thousands of

years ago, they still lived

close to the

natural

world and used animals and plants for

inspiration—the sting of a scorpion, the grace of a

swan, the grounded stature of a tree. When children

imitate the movements and sounds of nature, they

have a chance to get inside another being and

imagine taking on its qualities. When they assume the

pose of the lion (Simhasana) for example, they

experience not only the power and behavior of the

lion, but also their own sense of

power: when to be aggressive,

when to retreat. The physical

movements introduce kids to

yoga's true meaning: union,

expression, and honor for oneself

and one's part in the delicate web

of life.

One of the most controversial topics

nowadays is related to addictions. In

general, we can say that everybody is

exposed to be an addict to something.

Ignoring what an addiction is, can be very

dangerous because you might not realize it

until you are already in, for example you

can see some of the top-ten addictions

including workholism, love addiction, TV

addiction, exercising addiction among

others which have been ignored, since we

have been told that an addiction is

something different, based on the previous

definition of addiction.

Addiction definition has changed, now

compulsiveness, psychological disorders,

bad habits have been included to the

original addiction concept.

There are many reasons which might make

somebody to become an addict like

sadness, emptiness and necessity and so on

although it is difficult to determine when

somebody can be associated with an

addiction but in most of the cases when an

activity or something affects the way how a

person interacts or behaves, we can say we

are in front of an addict or potential addict.

Another important concept which has been

widely discussed and analyzed is stress,

usually seen as an emotional and/or

physical reaction to pressure. This response

is not good all the time since it may trigger

some bad behaviors which can affect the

quality of life of a person.

As we could see, addictions and stress are

affecting us more and more but we also can

take actions to avoid their effects, here it is

where we find another term “live in

harmony”, which is the ability or capacity to

live good in all senses, meaning mental and

physically.

We can do many activities which can help

us to set free the stress like swimming,

walking, etc.

As conclusion, we can say that we need to

understand what an addiction is, what its

symptoms are and how we can handle it or

how we can help the people who cannot

Personally, I think all what I what I have

learned about this topic will help me better

to handle stress and potential addictions or

bad habits

7 habits of highly effective People

Sometimes, it is difficult to change your

habits and it is even harder to change the

way you think about something because

those are the thoughts which you have

grew up with. People are not used to take

risks since all the time we want to win all

the time and get more things instead of

“playing” and see what happens. In relation

to this, one can say why people who take

risks are more successful. We should learn

how to start and learn how to prioritize

things, in order to accomplish all other goals

on time and on better way.

We need to take an action plan which

includes what we need to do accomplish

what we are looking for; basically we have

to identify our main target, and based on

that, define the steps we should take. Once

we know what we want, we need to see or

think of the best path we can take and

proceed as soon as possible without

postponing our plans.

Something that we need to make sure is to

try to get help when we do not understand,

we need to be humble and understand that

we will win, if people around us win as well.

Although some people do not take this into

account, we should trust other people and

people will help us and share their

experience with us and we can share what

we know as well.

Another important aspect of success is

communication, because if we transmit our

message or what we mean in the best way,

we can be understood by others and our

requests can be properly acknowledged and

it will help us to find solutions faster and we

will be more efficient and people will

admire our job.

Accepting our errors is a good way to

improve and be better since it gives us

experiences and let us make better

decisions in the future. In addition to this,

people will see that we are willing to help

and be better then it will be possible/easier

to get help again-

In general if we want to get what we seek

for, ask for help, understand problems and

take correct actions based on our

experience and what would better for us.

Improvement is a hard process but it is

possible if we keep investigating and be up

to date.

Work hard will help us to live better in the

future.

As conclusion, I can say this article helped

me a lot since we are currently having many

changes in my job and team work has

become a significant tool.

Around the world women no matter the culture they come from are constantly exposed and forced to follow some patterns which their societies dictate to be accepted.

In addition to this, the chauvinism still has a transcendent role in many cultures and women have to follow some customs that can affect the way they look.

Some of these examples are women from Asia who keep their feet as shorter as possible to get men´s attraction.

Those extended practices start sometimes since childhood, where little ladies have no choice and they have to do what their parents want.

Taking these as examples we can realize that the chauvinism still exists in modern societies as well, for example men in general have greater power and status than women.

To mention some causes, we can find discriminatory laws against women, religious discrimination and sexual division at work.

Even though the chauvinism is still present women are now been integrated to the society and they have new roles, the harassment is nowadays punished with high severity. We hope that differences between women and men disappear in the future.

A new dawn Between white and gray is not much

difference, but when it comes to addictions

there is a very long line, as for example:

when a person has normal life, works,

studies; that is, the person shares time with

his family, we can say that individual is life

is all white, on the contrary, when an

individual falls into an addiction, everything

him around starts to darken and even

completely him.

An addicted person needs to meet a

particular need; he or she believes that such

practice or behavior anytime and anyplace.

In addition there is a ten relevant examples,

wich affect our age:

Gossip is very harmful in any place where

present; this vice affects people socially and

can cause serious disputes on a personal

level. Television has gone almost to the

bottom of my list; it has been replaced by

the internet and video games, perhaps

more concentrated in households where

the elderly live.

Fast food is consistent with the stress we

live, there is no time for cooking in many

homes, for example, children are addicting.

In seventh and sixth place and exercising a

particular sport also leads the individual to

forget the surrounding environment and

can cost you your body long term.

Work addiction is a very common these

days due to the need, because not enough

money.

The Internet as explain above distracts

people from their daily activities, causes of

sleep problems, ulcers and divorces.

Alcohol and drugs in general, remains the

number one destruction of homes and even

femicides.

Shown that a long term solution to is to

achieve a harmonius life, such behaviors

and practices where people develop a

different life style or culture in the minds of

future generations.

The seven habits The seven-habit article really impressed me;

because, I have read a lot about leadership

and proactive techniques to achieve success

and I had never seen such a profound and

schematic way.

I see you being proactive not just take the

initiative to develop us at work, but it has to

do with all areas of our lives, including

family and personal relationships.

Furthermore, I agree with the

implementation of the seven habits,

because, from experience and I assure you

absolute proof of it, if you treat a man as he

deserves, he will remain as is.

I believe humans always need to be

encouraged; we all need a reason to

improve ourselves and especially someone

correct us and remains us that we must

improve, both at work and in relationships.

I don’t like the habit 4, paragraph 1,

because, if everyone were to apply that

philosophy to seek “mutual benefit”, we

could live in a world without hunger, war

and more developed in harmony with the

environment.

Definitely, it is essential to implement the

sixth habit because it refers to the balance

and respect needed for effective

communication.

It is important to bring the achievement of

goals in the short and long term for an

organization and why not or at home?

History mentions that geishas have their

roots in the 7th century with female

entertainers called “Saburuko or

“Shirobyous” from the early 13th century.

Geishas are part of Japanese culture

because are professional women who

entertain customers with various

performing arts, they went through

extensive training to become geisha and

keep improving their skills by taxing lessons,

for example: Traditional Japanese dance,

singing, playing instruments like shamisen (

3 stringed instrument).

We decided to research a little about these

women because of the way they dress and

the make-up they put on. For us it is very

interesting.

The official custom of the geishas is the

kimono with extravagant obi and the older

geisha kimono designs using mor muted.

The color, pattern and style of the dress

depend on the season and the event the

geisha is attending.

Kimonos are very expensive; generally a

geisha has 40 and can take from two to

three years to complete each of them, due

to the painting and embroidering. They also

wear a flat-soled sandal called “zori”

(sandals made of rice or other plant fibers,

cloth or synthetic materials) outdoors but,

indoors wear tabi (with split-toed socks).

After years and experience as a geisha,

to the skin. Next white powder is mixed

applied with a bamboo brush the make-up

covers the face, throat, chest and neck, the

lips are filled using a small brush, it comes

from a small stick which is melted in water.

between the eighteenth and nineteenth

centuries. In recent times, along with the

considerably decreased and there is a risk

Before starting to develop the topic, it is

important to know the origins, objectives

and different events that occurred many

years ago. Currently, several international

and national organizations, small and

medium companies, make campaigning and

volunteering with efforts to support the

community and the environment.

Earth Day is a day celebrated in many

countries on April 22. Its sponsor was U.S.

Senator Gaylord Nelson, he established this

day to create a common awareness of the

problems of overpopulation, pollution

production, conservation of biodiversity and

other environmental concerns to protect the

Earth. The first demonstration took place on

April 22, 1970, sponsored by Senator

Gaylord Nelson and environmental activist

for the creation of an environmental agency.

In this campaign there were two thousand

universities, ten thousand primary and

secondary schools and hundreds of

communities. Social pressure had its

achievements and the United States

government created the Environmental

Protection Agency (EPA) and a series of

laws designed to protect the environment.

Senator Gaylord Nelson wrote an article

with all the details behind this big initiative,

“Actually, the idea for Earth Day evolved

over a period of seven years starting in

1962. For several years, it had been

troubling me that the state of our

environment was simply a non-issue in the

politics of the country. Finally, in November

1962, an idea occurred to me that was, I

thought, a virtual cinch to put the

environment into the political "limelight"

once and for all. The idea was to persuade

President Kennedy to give visibility to this

issue by going on a national conservation

tour. I flew to Washington to discuss the

proposal with Attorney General Robert

Kennedy, who liked the idea. So did the

President. The President began his five-

day, eleven-state conservation tour in

September 1963. For many reasons the

tour did not succeed in putting the issue

onto the national political agenda. However,

it was the germ of the idea that ultimately

flowered into Earth Day”.

In addition, I consider important and

beneficial to raise awareness in people

about protecting the environment, because

we know that some humans don´t care to

protect the planet, we have to make a big

change in our society we must teach to

children and adolescents about different

ways to recycle, save energy and planting

trees, however, the earth day does not

mean that we only collaborate that day,

every day we should be aware and do

something, starting in our home and many

years ago that fact it´s going to be a huge

change.
