TERM DATES 2016
For five weeks this term our Year 9 girls have had the privilege of having a special guest in class –beauty ‘heartist’ Larissa Jones.
Larissa has shared with us her journey to a positive self-image and we’ve discussed the body image that the world tends to direct to our young girls.
Larissa is also a makeup artist to the stars and has given us some great practical advice too on how to wear makeup that emphasises your natural beauty.
Last week we had fun looking at ‘what not to do’! Hannah bravely volunteered to have half her face as the ‘bad example’ side and the other half we made the ‘good example’ side. Here are some photos of the day and the
half-finished makeup.

Mon 25 First Day of Term 3
Here we are again at the end of another amazing fortnight. 180 Yr 3-9 students headed to Clayton Bay foreshore on Wednesday to plant 1000 trees in a Revegetation program as buddy classes. We were very thankful for moments of blue sky and sunshine and that the rain held off. A payment of $1200 will be received for our involvement in this program, with funds being allocated to the first purchase of our School Representative Sports Uniforms. Thank you so much to our parents that have volunteered today too. We owe you a warm cup of coffee.
Please take note of the term dates on the front page of this Newsletter. There is a correction to start date of Term 3. School will resume in Term 3 on Monday 25 July as Pupil Free days scheduled for Term 3 will be on Friday, 19 August and 2 September. As mentioned last fortnight, we are looking
at offering OSHC on these Pupil Free days so please call Camp Australia on 1300 105 343 or go online to register at www.campaustralia.com.au
Another delivery of new Tyndale Uniform has arrived so we now are pleased to have in stock the girls white shirts with logo, limited boys shirts with logo, sport track pants and jacket and sports shorts. You will start to see some of the students wearing the new uniform and they look fantastic.School Photos that were ordered recently are expected to be back for the start of Term 3. These will be sent home with your children unless otherwise instructed.
Next week we farewell our first contingent of students on Overseas Mission & Cultural trips, Brianna Rowett, Savannah Story (and Mum Rosalie) who will head off with 60 other
students from Tyndale Salisbury East to Kenya and Jason Schulz, our Year 6 teacher & Primary Sports Coordinator, with Year 11 students, Matthew McNamara and Kirily Munyard as they trek the Kokoda Trail with a further 12 students from Salisbury East. We pray for their safe travels and a wonderful time and we will look forward to hearing
so much about it on their return.
Have a wonderful weekend.

In August, Book Week is celebrated in schools around Australia. This year the theme is “Australia: Story Country”.
This topic opens our thinking to a range of aspects that this country presents. We have indigenous people, established communities and newcomers and each individual, family and community has a story.
Then there is the country itself: its landscapes, resources, hazards and delights provide background and inspiration for other stories, as do the plants and
animals.
In Book Week, some of the Primary classes will have the opportunity to come to school in costume one day. The costumes may represent characters from Australian books, colours of our landscape or some of our very interesting animals or birds.

Below Right: A communal tapestry weaving is going steadily and people choose a colour that is significant to them.

WE’RE ALL GOING TO THE ZOO!On Thursday 16 June the Year 2 and Year 3’s boarded a bus bound for the Adelaide Zoo. We knew it was going to be a wet day, so we dressed appropriately with jackets and umbrellas and thankfully the rain stayed away for most of the day - Amen!
We had some great parent helpers such as Meredith Wray, Monique Adams, Marilyn Frahn, Wendy Dunkin, Erica Frahn, Bec Holt and Martha Garwood along with the wonderful Mrs Veronica Greenfield.
We were all set in our groups to explore the wonders of the animals at the Adelaide Zoo. Many animals were shy because of the wet weather, but we still saw many interesting creatures like the Meerkats, Giraffes,
Lions, Tigers, Baboons, of course the Pandas and my personal favourite the monkeys with white moustaches - the Emperor Tamarin!
We had a great day and are thankful for Mr John Newell for transporting us and Mr Cameron Lock for his efforts. The students represented Tyndale very well, it was a great day out for all.
