CPYS 2017 countdown starts
“It’s all systems go!”
WITH only three days to go to the 2017 Cape
Premier Yearling Sale, it‟s all systems go! Sales
Manager Amanda Carey said on Wednesday
morning that the last yearlings will be arriving this
morning and viewing will start during the course of
the day.
“There is a CTS hospitality tent in the stable area at
the Cape International Convention Centre where
vendors and buyers can look in for refreshments, it‟s
a beautiful day here in Cape Town.”
Carey said that there will be a solid international
buyers bench, many of whom have flown in already
including Angus Gold, Tom Goff, Mick Flanagan
and Peter Doyle. “We have several new
internationals buying this year, which is exciting!”
A CTS cocktail party will be held at The Taj Hotel,
starting at 6pm on Friday evening.
The sale starts at 17.30 on Saturday afternoon, and
so far only lots 208 and 216 have been withdrawn.
The catalogue can be downloaded on this link.

THE tempting 17-10 about Legal Eagle was taken
yesterday as most bookies, including Betting
World, turned his odds to 15-10. The good support
for Marinaresco continues - he‟s come in to 5-2,
with Whisky Baron steady at 9-2.
Three-year-old ace Gold Standard (12-1 to 11-1)
and the older Captain America (22-1 back to 20-1)
were two longer-priced runners to attract support.
The latest betting is:
15-10 (17-10) (15-10) (14-10) (13-10) (15-10) (22-
10) Legal Eagle

Sun Met: Top two saw some
cash on Tuesday
OUR Gr1 Sun Met betting grid (left) reflects
continued steady support for Candice Bass-
Robinson‟s four-year-old Marinaresco, who
touched as high as 9-2 after the L‟Ormarins
Queen‟s Plate before coming in through 4s and
28-10 into 5-2 in the last few days. In the photo,
Marinaresco goes through his paces at Milnerton
yesterday - he looks in menacing shape and it is
evident that the stable believes the Met is not a one-
horse race!
Decades of Glamour at Sun Met
The „Decades of Glamour‟ theme is set to inspire a
number of fantastic raceday looks spanning between
the 1920s right through to the disco era of the 1970s
and beyond.
The official Sun Met after-party presented by GUESS
has attracted a star line-up of some of South Africa‟s
biggest artists including the likes of Mi Casa, Good-
luck, Sketchy Bongo and Euphonik.
Tickets for the Sun Met, celebrated with GH Mumm
are available from Ticketpro here http://bit.ly/

TRAINERS Bob Baffert (Arrogate) and Art Sherman
(California Chrome), squared up for a photo session at
Santa Anita in California, ahead of the $12-million Pega-
sus World Cup in Miami, Florida, next Saturday. It‟s a
much-anticipated rematch between the two stars—
Sherman wants revenge, he reckons „Chrome‟ will get it.
Baffert is confident too and said, “Bring him on down!”
