Dear Parents,
Welcome back to the final term of 2012. We have an extremely busy term planned with a number of events finishing with the Presentation night in Week 11 (December 17th ). Last Friday and Saturday the staff attended two days of Professional Develop-ment, so that the school is better able to care for all students needs. Thank you to the staff for attending in their holidays. In week 4 (29th October to 2nd November) the primary students will be attend-ing a camp at the Snowy Mountains Camp (Sport & Rec). Please forward per-mission notes and transport notes as soon as possible.
We have received the dates for the Year 6 Orientation for this term, with three dates been given to us from Murrumburrah High School. There are two in No-vember and one in December (6/11/12, 22/11/12 and 5/12/12). Permission notes and transport notification will be sent home soon.
As per our “Sun Safe Policy” we are in Term 4 so for the students “No Hat, No Play”, (brimmed hat) also sun block when going outside.
Thank you to the P & C and all the parents that helped in donut making, Gold-enfields catering and the disco. A special big thanks must go to George and Melissa for their kind donation of the food to the disco.
Regards Russell

Did You Know?
The plural for “goat” has not always been goats. The Oxford Dictionary records the use of gete, geet, geete, geates, goates, gait, goete, gotes and gayte.
The ancient Egyptians veneration of cats was used by the Persians in 500BC. The Persians attacked the town of Pelusium carrying cats. They released the cats ahead of their attack and with thousands of cats running around the Egyptians would not throw their spears for fear of hitting a cat and sur-rendered.
The crane was invented by the Romans. Earlier civilizations used temporary earth ramps

Special thanks to all who came to the disco and espe-cially George and Melissa who donated all the chil-dren’s food and the year 6 students for organising the event. Approx $1000
Special thanks to all the Jugiong parents who cooked and helped at our annual goldenfields catering. Raised $2600
Wow what a great combined effort and fantas-tic term. Term 4 will be a little less busy as we wind down for the year.
We would like to thank Carmen Coggan for her very generous donation of family photo packages. Only a few spaces left for Sunday the 28th October. Call Jen-ny (0422078724)if you would like one of only 3 spots left.
Our only other project now for the term is on the
Sergeant Parry Day in the rec grounds on sat the 17th nov. The P&C will be holding a white elephant stall and hot donuts. Start cleaning out your old treasure to bring on the morning or drop into the wether shed at the school before hand. We will send out a roster clos-er to the event to see if someone from your family could help for 1 hour of the day.
Thank you once again for all your help, we value all the parents at our school and look forward to seeing you at the next P&C meeting next Tuesday at 7pm for your input and ideas for our school.
