School Hats

We would like to remind parents and students that in Term 4, students are expected to wear a

school bucket or legionnaires hat as part of Derrimut’s Sun Smart Policy.

Our Sun Smart Policy requires students to play in the shade if they do not have the correct school hat. We encourage parents to clearly label their

child’s hat on the inside, in the event the hat is misplaced.

Please note that students are not permitted to wear baseball caps at school as this is not part of

our school uniform. Parents wishing to purchase a school hat, can do

so at the uniform shop between 8.30am—10.30am on Wednesdays.

Term 4 Hat Reminder:

Thanks A Bunch

A BIG thank you to all our wonderful parents who have helped out in many different ways throughout this term eg. Classroom helpers, school banking, Father’s Day Stall

and in the kitchen/garden.

Thank you from all the staff at D.P.S

5/6 Green: Professor Bunsen Science Incursion

As part of this term’s Chemistry inquiry, 5/6 Green organised for Professor Bunsen, to bring his science and

technology shows ’Best Science Demonstrations’ and ’Chemistry Secrets Revealed’ to our community. It was a fun, exciting and interactive experience to help continue

our students growing interest in science.

Chatter, chatter, chatter, the sound of my teeth going up and down was

the only thing you could hear because on Friday 20th August it was like an

ice block on the oval. The first thing was splitting into age groups.

The 10 year olds were doing Discus first. I was in the 10 year old age

group even though I am not 10 but I will be soon. As soon as you can

imagine! I twisted my body, swung my arm and let go of the discus. Wow!

What a great shot. After everybody had their go I had to have another

go with some other girl. Another great shot from Leia. It was a great

shot but not big enough for a ribbon.
