Ministering to the Overlooked

Our vision is to redeem, to rescue, and to restore those the

world has overlooked.

Pastors Nick and Dorothy Mounts are the founders of Over-look Ministries. The couple was called into full-time street ministry in 1993 in Dayton, Ohio. Tragedy struck in 1996 when they lost their beloved son, who was part of their

ministry, to a drunk driver.

After a time of mourning, and in coping with their loss, they moved to FL and received a renewed passion and vision for ministering to the overlooked. Offering support to those whom society, but not God, has given up on, they provide spiritual parenting, a spiritual family, and guidance to those who have nowhere to turn. Since 1998 they have been faith-fully serving Brevard County. With the help of the Overlook Ministries Board, the support of caring community partners, and to the glory of God, their ministry mission is expanding. We are excited for God to expand our territory in 2020 as we break ground increase our current facility from a 6 bed dorm to a 20 bed dorm with many other updates to the

building and grounds.

I’M TELLING YOU

THE TRUTH:

WHENEVER YOU DID

ONE OF THESE

THINGS TO SOMEONE

OVERLOOKED OR

IGNORED,

THAT WAS ME -

YOU DID IT TO ME.

Meet Rob, he is new to OBTC.

Rob is 23 and was born in Sebas-

tian, Florida but has moved a lot

over both the East and West

Coasts. Family is important to

him, he has a 4 year old daughter,

2 sisters and a brother. We are

believing for healing and

restoration for him as he learns

how much he is loved and who he

is in Christ under the teaching and

guidance of Overlook ministries.

Esteban was previously at OBTC but did not complete his time there.

He returned in October of 2019 to finish what he started. Since return-

ing, he has shown leadership qualities. In December, we felt led to put

him in as our houseman. This is a leadership position help by one of

the men in the program to guide and lead the other men in program

under the direction of our director, Here is his testimony. “I was born in

the Bronx, NY. I would say that I had a somewhat normal childhood.

Living in NY was great to us. It was when I moved to Florida that I lost

myself to the party scene. There was lots of racing, track meeting and

house parties. I was trying to fight the fight on my own but lost every

single time, I knew that I needed help and that it would not come from a

man, hospital, rehab or detox. After many years, I realized that Jesus

kept me alive for a reason. Now with

God and Overlook ministries, I am get-

ting back to fulfilling what God has for

me. Without giving up on myself and

taking up the cross, I would never be

here, I would be out in the world, lost. I

have a Jesus calling and with the help

of our Pastors, Nick and Dorothy

Mounts and director, Dan Bushey, who

are all a big part of my new life, I am

excited to see what the Great, I AM has

in store for my life.”

Overlook Bible Training Center

Welcome Esteban as our new houseman at OBTC

Overlook’s Bible Training Center program is a year-long, intensive Bible training

experience for men. With a focus on the practical application of The Word of God

and Christian living principles, men learn in an atmosphere of love and direction,

we call “direction with affection”. This program is designed to work when every-

thing else has failed. Our goal is to save the lives of desperate men living in crisis

by helping them to “get life right” through a living relationship with God, knowing

Jesus as Lord and Savior, in an environment of love. As a result, these men learn

the skills needed to live a life of power and purpose. It is our vision to see broken

men healed by the powerful Word of God, our heart to help men to learn to help

themselves, and our passion is to teach them how to “get life right”. Our program

purpose is to offer spiritual, physical, emotional and social support for men in crisis

due to life-controlling behaviors. Men are accepted into the program free of cost.

This allows them to break free of their unique behaviors. Our program serves men,

18 years or older, of all faiths. When all else fails, this program works. Men are set

free to serve The King!

This program offers men and women who are struggling with life-controlling

behaviors, an opportunity to come together for a shared meal, worship and

Bible Study. The messages are focused on practical application of the Word

of God to provide Biblical coping skills that attendees can apply to their daily

lives. The buffet style, sit down meal provides a comfortable and welcoming

environment of fellowship and grace.

ON THE STREETS Saturday at 2:00 pm

300 N. US HWY 1, Cocoa FL

Our on the streets ministry offers the Word of God to those living in the streets, park or wooded areas though the offering of a good hot meal in a consistent place, at a consistent time. Volunteers help prepare hot meals and our Pastors, director, or one of the men in the OBTC program give a message of hope from the Word of God.

This year’s fundraiser

was held on October

19th at 7pm. Pastor

Dorothy spoke about

the staggering statistics

of opioid and drug

abuse which is now at

epidemic levels in our

country. Omar and

Yadis Ramos prepared

a delicious Latin dinner

and we were able to

raise several hundred

dollars from amazing

raffle prizes donated by

local hotels, businesses

and restaurants. We

received a generous

offering at the event

and through others by

mail which will be used

to maintain Overlook

Bible Training Center.

We are thankful for all

who partnered with us

in saving lives of men

trapped in addiction.

2019 Thanksgiving Outreach

We celebrated Thanksgiving with a

catered meal donated by ECCC

from Boston Market this year at

our annual Thanksgiving dinner

‘On The Streets.’ We had over 100

in attendance with volunteers, the

homeless and those who joined us

who had no where else to go for

dinner.

”Overlook Ministries gives back”

Each year we collect an offering every Monday and choose a family to bless for Christmas. This year we

choose one of our own, a past graduate of OBTC and his precious family. Dick and Anita Perkins led us in

worship and Christmas Carols and our beloved Vaike who has served with us for many years was able to

join us after being in a rehab center for several months with a broken hip and femur from a fall that she

had a few months ago.

Overlook Ministries Christmas party at Steppin Up

OBTC Christmas

Every year our Pastors have the men at OBTC

write out a Christmas wish list for items that

they would like or need. The funds to purchase

these items come from ministry yard sales and

metal &

aluminum scrap that the men do all year. It is a

huge blessing to the men in the program.

We were joined this year by some of our

teachers at OBTC and Pastor Nicks son,

Michael, and his family.

There was a feast prepared and wonderful

fellowship as we celebrated the birth of our

savior as a family.

Become A Lifesaver

We are looking for individuals, businesses, and congregations who are inter-

ested in partnering with us in our mission to minister to the overlooked and to

expand the Bible training center, so we can save more men. 2020 is a year for

us to enlarge our territory and expand OBTC from a 6 bed dorm to a 20 bed

dorm. This will involve a major remodel and construction project.

Together, we share common goals and bind together in purpose to reach the world with the uncompromising Word of God. We fulfill His purpose and in-crease His kingdom. This relationship has supernatural power. As we enter into partnership, we enable a spiritual principle that empowers us to share in the blessings of the ministry. We will stand together in faith and prayer, for souls to be saved, men totally set free, lives radically saved, and reach a lost world with the Gospel of our Lord, Jesus Christ. This relationship isn’t a one time gift or a one time experience – but an ongoing partnership that brings con-tinuous fulfillment to our lives. Ephesians 6:7-10 says, “What we make happen for others, God will make

happen for us.”

Please consider taking this opportunity to plant a financial seed to help men

kick their addictions and afflictions for good with Jesus and learn how to “get

life right.” We look forward to meeting you as you join us in our journey and

vision. We will see miracles in men’s live as we agree and trust God.
