Dear Families,
Our STEM Works project has started!
You will see by the fencing around buildings that our
STEM Works redevelopment has begun. Much of
the demolition work at the rear of the library has
been done but we anticipate a number of months of
disruption. The library will remain open during this
time. The computer room will be available for class
use for much of the time as well. It is important that
our students and visitors to the school remain
outside of the cordoned off areas. Access to the gym
and transportable classes is through the
amphitheatre area. Please keep to the paths.
Sports Day:
A separate note will come home to provide you with
information about our upcoming Sports Day. Please
check with your child to ensure you are informed.
We look forward to welcoming our families on this
day.
Due to Sports Day, our final assembly for the term
will be on Friday, September 29th at 9.00am.
3 Way Conferences:
The confirmation of times for interviews next week have gone home. Please contact the school or your child’s teacher if you are unable to attend and organise another time. This is particularly important where interpreters have been booked.
Pupil Free Day:
Our Pupil Free Day last week provided the opportunity for teachers to work collaboratively to gain further skills and understanding of designing tasks to meet the requirements of the Australian Curriculum, including the General Capabilities, literacy and numeracy continuums and the Proficiencies. This will provide greater opportunity for students to demonstrate their learning at different levels.
Our SSOs were also involved in training provided by Maureen our Numeracy coach. They also participated in a webinar on learning difficulties.

Sports Day Lunch Orders:
Tomorrow is the last day to pay for
Subway lunch orders for next
week’s Sports Day. Additional order
envelopes are available from the
front office. No late orders will be
accepted.
Woolworths Earn and Learn:
Please collect stickers if shopping at
Woolworths to support our school. Put your
stickers in the collection box in the front office or
in the Burton Primary box at nearby
Woolworths stores.
It would be great if
friends and family
could save them for
our school as well.
The promotion runs
until mid
September.
Springbank Woolworths
Springbank Woolworths is donating $1000
to our school. This morning some of our
Year 6/7 students attended the opening of
the redevelopment of the store, to sing the National
Anthem. We will use the
money to go towards purchasing a large marquee to
use for outdoor events including SAPSASA.
