FHS Scholarships    McCarthy Elementary School Scholarship ($500) -- Due March 13, 2020  Awarded to a senior in good academic standing, with financial need, who attended McCarthy Elementary.  The application can be found on Naviance ( www.naviance.com ) or in the College & Career Center.  

→ **Uses FHS scholarship application**   PTBO Scholarship ($1,000 for 2 FHS seniors) -- Due March 16, 2020  The FHS PTBO grants scholarships to graduating students to further their education. These scholarships will be  awarded based upon the totality of the student's accomplishments and experiences at FHS along with the quality  and content of the essay. The scholarships will be awarded to seniors who are continuing their education  post-graduation, and this is not limited to college. The scholarships are open to all seniors meeting this criteria,  except for those whose parents are on the PTBO scholarship award committee.  The application can be found on Naviance ( www.naviance.com ) or in the College & Career Center.

Christa McAuli�e Regional Charter Public School Scholarship ($500) -- Due March 31, 2020  Awarded to a senior who graduated from the McAuliffe Charter School who plans to pursue a degree beyond a high  school diploma. The recipient will be selected based on academic performance, extracurricular involvement,  community service, recommendations, and the application essay.  The application can be found on Naviance ( www.naviance.com ) or in the College & Career Center.

→ **Private application**   Rotary Education Fund of Framingham (10 scholarships of $3,500) -- Due April, 1 2020  Awarded to seniors who have taken actions in their community that demonstrate service to the community. Ten  scholarships of $3,500 each. They give preference to students who include a resume with their applications even  though they don't ask students to submit one.  The application can be found on Naviance ( www.naviance.com ) or in the College & Career Center.  

→ **Private application**   Gillian Tara Shor Memorial Scholarship ($1,500) -- Due April 3, 2020  The Gillian Tara Shor Memorial Scholarship was created in memory of Gillian Shor, a Framingham middle  school student who died in the spring of 2000 following a 2 1/2 year battle with brain cancer. The Gillian Tara Shor  Scholarship Committee is seeking a well-rounded student who exemplifies many of Gill's qualities, particularly her  passion for activities like soccer, her enthusiasm and spirit, her kindness, her concern for others and the special knack  she had for bringing people together.  The application can be found on Naviance ( www.naviance.com ) or in the College & Career Center.  

→ **Private application**   Framingham Garden Club Scholarship (4 scholarships of $1,000) -- Due April 9, 2020  For a senior who plans to study any aspect of science. Open to any student who plans on attending a post high school  program that includes a 4-year, 2-year, or certificate program.  The application can be found on Naviance ( www.naviance.com ) or in the College & Career Center.

Scott H. Pomerleau Memorial Scholarship ($500) -- Due April 10, 2020  We are very honored to be able to offer a scholarship to a Framingham High School Girls team swimmer or diver.  We are excited to give back to a program, which has had such a positive impact on Halia and Framingham High  School. The Swimming and Diving team provided life long lessons, which are invaluable. Coach Foley created a  team culture, which built camaraderie, a solid work ethic, commitment, and respect. Halia was fortunate enough to  have the support to strive for excellence because of this program. Halia and her Uncle Scott Pomerleau who the  scholarship is named for also had the support of the school community in Waltham to achieve success in his diving  career. As you can see Halias diving career has mirrored her Uncle. Halia will now carry on the tradition of diving  at the University of Alabama. Swimming and Diving afforded both Halia and Scott great opportunities. → * *Private application**    Class of 1969 50th Reunion Framingham North High Scholarship ($1,000+) -- Due April 15, 2020  The Framingham North High School Class of ’69 is thrilled to give a deserving, college-bound Framingham High  School senior a scholarship for the 2020-2021 school year. The student must be a Framingham resident who will be  attending a post-secondary institution for the fall 2020 school year. The committee is specifically looking to help  support a first generation college bound student pursue their higher educational goals. Applicant must be a  Framingham resident, Free/Reduced lunch eligible, be pursuing post-secondary education (broadly defined), and be  a first generation student heading for a post-secondary educational experience.  The application can be found on Naviance ( www.naviance.com ) or in the College & Career Center.  

→ **Uses FHS scholarship application**    Salvatore Palmieri Memorial Scholarship (2 awards of $1,000) -- Due April 15, 2020  Awarded to two English as a Second Language (ESL) students or former ESL students who will be the first  generation in their families to attend a 2- or 4-year college and who have financial need.  The application can be found on Naviance ( www.naviance.com ) or in the College & Career Center.

The Framingham United Soccer Club and the Framingham United Boosters Club annually offers  scholarships to graduating high school seniors who have been players or referee members of FUSC and  who will be attending an accredited two or four year college after graduation. This year, the amount  awarded for each scholarship is $750 and are awarded in memory of four individuals. Esta Rita Smith Scholarship ($1,250) -- Due April 27, 2020  The Esta Rita Smith Memorial scholarship is a one-time award of $1,250 funded by the Potter Road Elementary  School PTO. To be eligible you must be a former student of Potter Road School Elementary School, a graduating  senior of Framingham High School or Keefe Tech and a current Framingham resident that is pursuing higher ed.  The application can be found on Naviance ( www.naviance.com ) or in the College & Career Center (A106).

Sannicandro Scholarship (Brophy School) (2 awards of $300) -- Due May 1, 2020  Awarded to 2 deserving high school seniors who attended Brophy Elementary for a minimum of three years and  completed 5th grade at Brophy Elementary. Each applicant must complete an application, provide three character  references, and a high school transcript. The application, references, and transcript, must be postmarked by 5/1/20.  The application can be found on Naviance ( www.naviance.com ) or in the College & Career Center (A106).

Local Scholarships   The Arcadius, Emma & Robert Lemieux Scholarship (Up to $1,000) -- Due March 13, 2020  The Arcadius, Emma & Robert Lemieux Scholarship was established to assist seniors in public or private high  schools in the MetroWest area who wish to continue their education beyond high school, whether in college,  vocational or technical schools, but are unable to do so due to financial difficulties not of their own cause. Students  must: a) Reside in the MetroWest/495 area of Massachusetts (Ashland, Bellingham Dover, Franklin,  Framingham, Holliston, Hopedale, Hopkinton, Hudson, Marlborough, Medfield, Medway, Milford, Millis,  Natick, Northborough, Sherborn, Southborough, Sudbury, Wayland, Wellesley, Westborough or Weston), B) Be a  member of the senior class of a public or private high school with a grade average of C or better, and C) Demonstrate  financial need (documentation such as a FAFSA will be required).  The application can be found on Naviance ( www.naviance.com ) or in the College & Career Center.  

→ **Private application**   The Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism Scholarship (Up to $1,000) -- Due March 13, 2020  The MetroWest Chamber of Commerce DOUG FLUTIE, JR. FOUNDATION FOR AUTISM Scholarship was  established to assist public or private high school seniors with an autism or autism spectrum disorder diagnosis who  reside in the MetroWest area and wish to continue their education beyond high school, whether in college, vocational  or technical schools. Students must: A) Resident of the MetroWest/495 area of Massachusetts (Ashland,  Bellingham Dover, Franklin, Framingham, Holliston, Hopedale, Hopkinton, Hudson, Marlborough, Medfield,  Medway, Milford, Millis, Natick, Northborough, Sherborn, Southborough, Sudbury, Wayland, Wellesley,  Westborough or Weston); B) High School (Public or Private) graduating senior, with a grade average of B or better;  and C) Have demonstrated financial need (documentation such as a FAFSA will be required).  The application can be found on Naviance ( www.naviance.com ) or in the College & Career Center.

MetroWest Chamber of Commerce Inclusion Scholarship ($1,000) -- Due March 13, 2020  The MetroWest Chamber of Commerce Inclusion Scholarship was established to assist public or private high school  seniors with a physical or intellectual disability who reside in the MetroWest area and wish to continue their  education beyond high school, whether in college, vocational or technical schools. Award will be $1,000. Students  that meet the following criteria are eligible to submit a scholarship application: A) Resident of the MetroWest/495  area of Massachusetts (Ashland, Bellingham, Dover, Franklin, Framingham, Holliston, Hopedale, Hopkinton,  Hudson, Marlborough, Medfield, Medway, Milford, Millis, Natick, Northborough, Sherborn, Southborough,  Sudbury, Wayland, Wellesley, Westborough or Weston); B) High School (Public or Private) graduating senior; C)  Demonstrated financial need (documentation such as a FAFSA will be required); and D) Intellectual or physical  disorder diagnosis.  The application can be found on Naviance ( www.naviance.com ) or in the College & Career Center.  

→ **Private application*   MetroWest Chamber of Commerce STEM Scholarship (Up to $1,000) -- Due March 13, 2020  The MetroWest Chamber of Commerce STEM Scholarship was established to assist public or private high school  seniors who reside in the MetroWest area and wish to continue their education beyond high school, whether in  college, vocational or technical schools, with a focus on science, technology, engineering or math.   Students must: A) Resident of the MetroWest/495 area of Massachusetts (Ashland, Bellingham Dover, Franklin,  Framingham, Holliston, Hopedale, Hopkinton, Hudson, Marlborough, Medfield, Medway, Milford, Millis,  Natick, Northborough, Sherborn, Southborough, Sudbury, Wayland, Wellesley, Westborough or Weston); B) High  School (Public or Private) graduating senior, with a grade average of B or better; C) Have demonstrated financial  need (documentation such as a FAFSA will be required); and D) Have a demonstrated interest in and aptitude for  a STEM career.   The application can be found on Naviance ( www.naviance.com ) or in the College & Career Center.  

→ **Private application*   Framingham Teachers Association Education Award ($200-$400) -- Due March 16, 2020  For a senior who has overcome some personal and/or academic difficulty, and has displayed perseverance in striving  to become "the best he or she can be." The amount is to be determined. → **Private application**   Paul V. Thorp FTA Education Award ($500) -- March 18, 2020  Established in 2018 to honor a life’s work dedicated to education, the Paul V. Thorp Scholarship Fund was created  to assist students with a desire to enter the field of teaching. The applicant should be a graduating senior have a  desire to pursue a science/teaching major in higher education, strive for academic success, and show leadership  among his/her peers.  The application can be found on Naviance ( www.naviance.com ) or in the College & Career Center.

Kevin Flynn Doherty Memorial Scholarship ($1,000) -- Due March 23, 2020  This scholarship is given in memory of Kevin Flynn Doherty who died in a tragic accident while he was a student at  Framingham North High School. Kevin’s mother, Barbara Defino, a teacher at Hemenway Elementary School for  over 30 years bequeathed the money for this scholarship when she passed away in 2014. Kevin was a wonderful,  caring, young man, who had many friends. He loved the outdoors, including boating, waterskiing, and soccer.  The application can be found on Naviance ( www.naviance.com ) or in the College & Career Center.  

→ **Private application**   Framingham Youth Football & Cheerleading Scholarship ($500) -- Due March 30, 2020  For a senior at FHS, Marian, or Keefe Tech who participated in the football or cheerleading program, continued to  participate at the high school level, and demonstrates a strong academic commitment.  Applicants must submit a short essay on how their experience in the FYFC has benefited them throughout their high  school career.  The application can be found on Naviance ( www.naviance.com ) or in the College & Career Center.  

→ **Private application**   George Wheeler Memorial Soccer Award (TBD) -- March 30, 2020  As a FHS Boys and Girls Varsity Soccer Coach, Coach Wheeler encouraged his players to work to their potential both  on and off the field. Please discuss your interests and extracurricular activities and describe why you feel you are  deserving of this award in his memory. This scholarship is awarded to 1 male and 1 female varsity soccer player.  The application can be found on Naviance ( www.naviance.com ) or in the College & Career Center.  

→ **Private application**   Rita & Bill Collins Memorial Arts Scholarship ($1,000+) -- Due March 30, 2020  Applicants must be seeking higher education in the arts. In addition, the applicant must have created a work in the  area of visual arts, performing arts, or language arts within the previous 24 months. Examples are painting,  sculpture, photography, videography, poetry, short story, novel, play, musical composition, or dance choreography.  The application can be found on Naviance ( www.naviance.com ) or in the College & Career Center.  

→ **Private application**   Rich and Chris Chesmore GFRC College Scholarship (2 awards of $500 each) -- Due March 31, 2020  The Greater Framingham Running Club (GFRC) is pleased to announce that we will be awarding two $500  scholarships to high school seniors, one male and one female who plan to continue running track, cross-country or  recreationally while attending college. Eligible students, currently attend one of seven public high schools (Ashland,  Framingham, Holliston, Keefe Tech, Natick, Lincoln-Sudbury and Wayland) in the MetroWest area.  The application can be found on Naviance ( www.naviance.com ) or in the College & Career Center.  

→ **Private application**   The Stephanie Mercandetti Memorial Scholarship ($500) -- Due by 5pm on March 31, 2020  The Stephanie Mercandetti Memorial scholarship awards up to three $500.00 scholarships to high school seniors  who plan to study Public Policy, Planning, or Government Studies at a two or four year accredited college or  university. Who can apply? The scholarship will be awarded to students currently enrolled in their Senior year at

→ **Private application**   Middlesex Savings: A. James Lavoie Essay Contest Scholarship ($5,000) -- Due March 22, 2019  To be eligible for scholarship consideration, applicants must demonstrate financial need, academic achievement,  and community involvement. They must also plan to attend a four-year college program, and graduate from one  the many public, charter, or vocational high schools in the communities we serve .  PB&J Scholarship (Up to $1,000) -- Due May 31, 2020  Looking for students who have experienced challenges in their life and who have the drive to succeed. Non-FHS Scholarships   American Association of Blacks in Energy Scholarship ($3,000) — Due March 15, 2020  Through the work of various members of the AABE National Scholarship Committee, Chapter Presidents, Regional  Directors, local Scholarship Committees and many AABE volunteers nationwide, the AABE Scholarship Program  is advertised and applications are solicited from eligible candidates nation-wide. AABE local chapters review the  applications received and select local scholarship winners, from which the top-ranked candidates are forwarded to  the National Scholarship Committee for consideration of regional and national awards.  Apply now on Naviance or visit https://scholarship.aabe.org/   Donald & Barbara Mozley Scholarship ($5,000) — Due March 15, 2020  The Donald and Barbara Mozley Scholarship provides financial support for students pursuing an engineering  degree at an ABET-accredited college or university. Don Mozley was a renowned broadcast journalist who spent 62  years working for CBS Radio and KCBS/74 in San Francisco. Hired by CBS in 1942, Don covered such historic  events as WWII, the atomic bomb tests at Bikini the presidential campaigns of Nixon and Eisenhower, and the  Senate race of Robert Taft. He received the Excellence in Journalism Award from the Society of Professional  Journalists' Northern California Chapter in recognition of his distinguished broadcasting career. In addition to  news, Don's passion was cars and he spent much of his career covering automotive history in his features,  "California Driver" and "Don Mozley's Auto Test". Mark Bavis Leadership Foundation Scholarship (Up to $5,000) — Due March 15, 2020  The family and friends of Mark Bavis have established a foundation in Mark’s name to preserve his memory and  to perpetuate the principles by which he lived every day and through which he touched the lives of many. Mark’s  work ethic helped him accomplish so much in such a short time. He was one of those quiet leaders who led by service  and example. We will accomplish this by providing selected recipients with annual grants ranging from $1,000 to  $5,000 to be used as specifically requested for school tuition, summer programs and other appropriate  extracurricular activities.   Apply now on Naviance or visit http://www.markbavisleadershipfoundation.org/?page_id=11   The Rebekah Assembly of MA: Indep. Order of Odd Fellows ($1,000) -- Due March 15, 2020  Awarded to seniors who plan to further their education by attending a two-year or four-year college. Important that  all of the following information must accompany this application: 1) statement of needs of a scholarship 2) one adult  personal letter of reference from outside of school 3) two educational letters of reference 4) academic/scholastic record  from your high school 5) personal statement explaining your goals, financial status, members of your family, etc.   The application can be found on Naviance ( www.naviance.com ) or in the College & Career Center.   Janice M. Scott ($2,500) — Due March 31, 2020  The establishment of the Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund occurred in October 2001. This scholarship  fund is named in honor of Janice Marie Scott. Why was this scholarship fund established? To recognize her  involvement with various youth programs and community service activities within the Greater Metropolitan Area  of Washington, DC. Janice was one of 125 individuals that perished in the Pentagon on September 11, 2001 when  terrorists hijacked and crashed American Airlines Flight 77 into the building of the Pentagon. Richard J. Callahan Scholarship (TBD) -- Due March 31, 2020  accepting the scholarship. Applicant must either be an incoming college student or a current college student  attending Framingham State University. Applicant is NOT ELIGIBLE to apply if they are an employee of  MetroWest Community FCU, or a member of the Board of Directors for MetroWest Community FCU, an  immediate family member of someone who is a MetroWest Community FCU employee or serves on the Board of  Directors. The application requires an official transcript, a completed scholarship application form and a one-page,  typed, double-spaced essay, addressing the following (250 words min.): Mr. Callahan devoted his life to serving  others. Tell us how either you, or someone you know, has given back to their community and the impact this service  has made. Christine B. Dexter Scholarship ($2,000) — TBD March 2020  CBF is dedicated to providing support for the cancer community, who we believe is anyone who has been touched by  cancer. This year, they would like to award one undergraduate student affected by cancer with a $2,000 scholarship  for the upcoming academic year. The scholarship is for any undergraduate student who has been affected by cancer  in any way (be it themselves, a friend, a family member, a teacher, etc.) and they must also be attending their  undergraduate in one of the following states: Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, Rhode Island,  Connecticut, or New York.  Apply now on Naviance or visit http://www.chrisbfund.org/christine-b-dexter-scholarship/   James McGarry Scholarship (Northern Bank & Trust) ($5,000) -- Due April 1, 2020  The scholarship honors Mr. McGarry, a former Woburn resident, for his 50 years of service to Northern Bank &  Trust Company. It also pays tribute to his lifelong affinity for the fire and police departments in his community.  Over the decades, Mr. McGarry served with the Woburn Auxiliary Fire Department, founded the Independent  Fire Association of Woburn and was active with the Massachusetts Antique Fire Apparatus Association. → **Private application**   The Hair Bow Tie Company Scholarship ($1,000) -- Due April 2, 2020  We at The Hair Bow Company are encouraged when we see women spread their wings and launch their creative  ideas into successful businesses. We are excited to offer incoming and/or currently enrolled high school and  college-aged women a scholarship of $1,000. Murphy Scholarship (MAWLE) ($1,000) -- Due April 24, 2020  The Massachusetts Association of Women in Law Enforcement (MAWLE) is pleased to announce the Lieutenant  June T. Murphy Scholarship - to be awarded to a student who pursues a degree in Criminal Justice. All eligible  candidates qualifications, achievements, etc. will be evaluated and rated in comparison to all the perspective  applicants. Herbert Fales Educational Trust Scholarship (TBD) — Due May 1, 2020  The Trustee will select recipients on the basis of academic record, financial need, character and general appearance  of the scholarship application. The Trustee will give strong consideration to the essay questions (Part III) and to the  accuracy of answers to questions of fact (Part I and II). Recipients must be from Framingham or some community  within ten miles thereof. Consideration will be given to persons that can qualify for admission to a Trade School,  particularly those teaching subjects connected with building construction. Rob Roy Academy Scholarship ($1,000) -- Due May 31, 2020  To be considered for a scholarship award from Rob Roy Academy, the applicant must meet the following  requirements: must have a high school diploma, must be 16+ years of age, must enroll in the 1000 hr Cosmetology  or Barber Styling program, must be enrolled to start school in the 2020 calendar year; the scholarship will be  awarded at the completion of the program (in order to retain the scholarship the student must successfully complete  the program and maintain satisfactory academic progress).   The application can be found on Naviance ( www.naviance.com ) or in the College & Career Center.

Emergency Dentists USA Video Scholarship ($2,500) -- Due July 1, 2020  At Emergency Dentists USA we understand the value of a strong education.
