Introducing our new Student Wellbeing officer – Chantelle Fisher Although many of you will be aware of who I am, I thought it would be beneficial to officially introduce myself and my new role as “Student Wellbeing Officer”. Firstly I must say that I am extremely excited to be once again working at the school. I was the School Nurse in both Rainbow and Dimboola from 2005 to 2009. After finishing up as School Nurse I then returned to study and completed a Masters in Child & Family Health Science. I have been working as a community Midwife & Maternal and Child Health Nurse since then. My role as the Student Wellbeing Officer will involve a few different areas but will mainly focus around health promotion (both in and out of class), co-ordinating the Wellbeing Action team as well as providing student support. I am very much looking forward to working with the whole school community. Please feel free to contact me at the College if you would like to have a chat about anything wellbeing related.

Minyip Shoot Report - from Ms Fulton The Minyip Shoot is a clay target shooting event hosted by the Minyip Field and Game Club. Eight Rainbow senior students attended along with about 420 other students from school over the south west and central Victoria. Those attending were: Joad Fuller, Erin Preston, Bronte Eckermann, Jessica Staples, Jeremy James, Liam Preston, Rachel Staples and Ryan Sluggett. The event was exceptionally well run with many volunteers. All Rainbow students did well and were about average or better for their age groupings. Even first time participants of Joad, Jeremy, Bronte and Erin shot some clay birds. Parents Mathew Staples and Michael Preston were invaluable helpers throughout the day. The volunteering meant the event ran smoothly and there were no problems with the guns. Thank you to the following students for giving a report of their day: From Joad Fuller On the 17th of October Liam, Jessica, Jeremy, Rachel, Erin, Ryan, Bronte and Joad attended the Minyip Field and Game Shoot. On the first round I hit 5 clay-birds and in the second round I hit 2 clay-birds. It was a great day and I enjoyed it a lot. My overall score was 7. From Jessica Staples The clay targets were at 12 different stations and some were difficult to see and know where they were going. We all had a great time and I got 8 clay targets out of the 24. (She also came fourth in the Junior girl category). From Rachel Staples The Minyip Shoot was a great day with all students shooting well and doing their personal best. On behalf of all the students who attended, I’d like to thank Mrs Fulton for organising the day and the parents who made the day possible for us. From Ryan Sluggett The Minyip Shoot was fun, safe and well organised. Everyone enjoyed themselves. I scored 12 out of 24 .

Bizaar Circus While the Grade 3/4s were on camp last week, the Grade 1/2s created their own circus called Bizaar Circus! The final performance for the preps (and some 5/6s) on Friday afternoon included juggling, balancing, hula hooping and acrobats. Everyone involved with Bizaar Circus had a fantastic time! I loved being in the Bizaar Circus because I was an acrobat.—Sally I loved that the circus made the preps laugh.—Baxter I liked being the ringmaster of the Bizaar Circus! - Tash I was nervous doing the circus but it was fun.—Lenny
