Mount Lavinia Beach : Venue25th October 2014 : Date
Tourist : Wonderful! You are doing a great work to clean the beach. Are you environmentalists?
UOM Leo : No. We are from Leo Club of UOM
Tourist : Oh! Is that so? But why are you doing this?
UOM Leo : Beach is a wonderful gift given to Sri Lanka by the nature. So its our duty to protect it and keep it clean. Thats why we are doing this.
Tourist : Oh! There are so many bags filled with gar-bage. Did you collect all them from here?
UOM Leo : Yes. There is so much garbage here like plastic bottles and polythene.
Tourist : Dont you take any actions to keep the beach clean for everyday?
UOM Leo : Why not? We distribute leaflets to make people aware to keep the environment clean.

Once upon a time... Once I started to read the story-book, my mind took me back to about 17 years. I was a small
child. My sister and mother used to read me various stories. My world was with those kind hearted fairies, harmonized villagers
& jungle animals. At that time I was just happy and simple. No exams. No stresses. No deadlines for assignments. Or simply, I was
just a kid. But the time passes. And everyone become older & ma-ture. Then the life changes. But still, that childhood is a happy memo-
ry which we never forget... ..then they lived happily ever after. It was the end of the story and I closed the book. Two sparkling eyes filled with
happiness and joy were looking at me. Since I closed the book, he laughed happily and clapped....
Date was 1st October. I was in Sumudu PreSchool where our UOM
Leo club members arranged a Childrens Day Programme. I was reading one of the storybooks which we gifted for each kid.
They were very happy with the fun games we arranged and we were also en-joying our time with them. At the end of the day we departed from them. But our
smiles didnt fade away because we all realized something on that day. Though the time passes and we became adults, we all have our childhood child inside us... !

We meet so many barriers in our journey of life. UOM Leos always try to help others to cross over these
life barriers. Such a barrier we face in our lives is O/L ex-amination. So, we extended our hands to help the students
in Weeraketiya Rajapakse Central College, to cross this bar-rier.
Ganitha Saviya, the O/L seminar was held on 2nd Octo-
ber 2014 very successfully with the participation of many UOM Leos.

He is just like me. When I was little I also used to play a keyboard other than playing outside with friends. After 20
years I went to my childhood again.

SPANDHAziamkaOZ Spandha, done by UOM Leos to uphold the life of a person in need. We collected do-nations to provide financial assistance to a heart patient. Her happy eyes and grateful smile showed us how valuable it was to her. In ones life there are times of being strong and healthy. And also there arrives a time where we are weak and no longer healthy. So, the most important thing is to help others while we are strong and able. Someday, a helping hand will arise to up-hold us, like once we did, in this circle of life.

Is it enough having 24HOURSfor a day?
Time management, have you heard about that? Do you know how to do that? But the term Time Management is a misnomer. You cant manage time; you manage the events in your life in re-lation to time. You may often wish for more time but you just have 24 hours, 1,440 minutes or 86,400 seconds per day. How do you use that time?
Just imagine that there is an empty bottle with you. Now you are going to fill up that bottle with the things youre having in your hand. Lets suppose if you are given stones having several sizes, sand and water. Now, what is your plan? Are you going to fill up the whole bottle with water at the begin-ning? No, then how can you store any stone without making an overflow. So, it is clear that your plan should be changed.
Lets think in a different way. Now youre going to store large stones in to the bottle at first. There may have plenty of voids with in the bottle. Then you can insert small size stones into that voids. Af-ter that you can fill remaining voids using sand. Then its better to check with water, how much water could be put in to the bottle. Take a look back. Now the bottle is perfect.
The DAY which is having 24 hour is just like that bottle. Can we expand the volume of that rigid bottle? Never Same like that anyhow you cant have any more second in your day. All the things you put in to the bottle are equal to your life events. You have to categorized them as compulsory, important, it is better if you can do it and additional. If plenty of tasks were done that are having less importance, then there wont have any more time to complete most important tasks in your schedule. Its just like the bottle which were filled up quite water. So, to have an effective event management it is must that you have prioritize your events in your schedule.
One of the easiest ways to prioritize is to make a to do list. Whether you need a daily, weekly or monthly list depends on your lifestyle. Rank the items on your to do list in order of priority. Dont make it if it is just another plan which never be launched. Do it and then it will be enough to having 24 hours per day.

Thought...Litt le Bird at the TreeLittle bird at the tree-top- flew down to earth, Search did she around- perfect place on ground,Days of sweat - spent - for the comfort of warmth, In the sand - under the grass - -safety- she drew. When the sun was mild- and the clouds were thick, Weather blessed with please- to the hope of life.Days of hope - blown- with the wind of spring, By rain - and - by sun -hidden-under her wings. With the rain - like storm - mighty feet came in, Strikes of lighting - chased - the hope lit beady eyes care..In the play ground of youths broke the mere birds, Negligible hope of life- in the play of joy..!!Flew away did she- for eyes too tiny to cry, Sorry no one would- for such a small heart...!!
