THANKSGIVING DAY
9 am Mass of Thanksgiving in the Church
November: All Souls’ Month
Lapkričio mėn.: Mirusiųjų prisiminimas Names of beloved deceased may be written in “The Book of the Dead” in the lobby of the Church. Each Sunday during November the book will be carried in procession before Mass, and then placed on the altar. A voluntary contribution to the parish may be made. Please use the designated envelopes. Writing the names on the envelopes is not necessary, since you enter the names in the book. Lapkričio mėnesy prisimename mūsų mylimus mirusius. Bažnyčios prieangyje yra ,,Mirusiųjų knyga,“ kurioje galima įrašyti vardus mylimų mirusiųjų. Kiekvieną lapkričio sekmadienį, knyga bus nešama procesijoje ir bus padedama ant altoriaus, kur liks Mišių metu. Savanorišką auką galima įduoti, naudojant tam skirtus vokelius. Vardų nereikia užrašyti ant vokelių, nes juos knygoje įrašote.
Information about the Proposed Vote for Assisted
Suicide In addition to tweeting important articles and links, Cardinal O'Malley will be tweeting on the Year of Faith and on Question 2 in which he will be asking his Twitter followers to tweet comments or questions back that he
will answer. "On Nov. 6, voters will be asked to support so-called 'death with dignity.' Who wouldn't want a dignified death? Unfortunately, this is a euphemism meant to mask the reality doctors providing a lethal prescription for someone with a terminal diagnosis of 6 months or less to end his own life. It's important that we -- all of us -- help people to understand what Question 2 is all about. Please join me, through Twitter and other means, to stop assisted suicide by informing others about Question 2 and encouraging your own Twitter followers to vote no."

Dear Parishioners and Extended Family Members of Saint Peter Lithuanian Parish,
Garbė Jėzui Kristui! Praised be Jesus Christ!
With Election Day happening November 6, I would be remiss not to mention two of the questions appearing on
the Massachusetts State Ballot.
Question 2: PLEASE see the insert in this mailing, http://www.cardinalseansblog.org/ and
http://thebostonpilot.com/ for the reasons to vote against this question. It is important to note that even some of
those who are in favor of the concept of Physician-Assisted Suicide are against this measure since Question 2 is
so poorly written.
Question 3: If you have any urge at all to vote yes, please mention this to a parishioner who resides in South
Boston. They will tell you that, this year, there have been four murders in four different parishes which are tied
to the use of drugs. The use of marijuana almost invariably leads to the use of harder drugs, the kind which have
beeen tied to the murders of four South Boston residents. Prescription drug abuse is already rampant. This will
add to the problem.
In closing, please do not believe anyone who claims that President Obama’s HHS mandate and its requirement
to pay for contraception will not affect how Catholic institutions do business. The “exemption” would be in the
case of Catholic institutions employing only Catholics and serving only Catholics. This has NEVER been the
way the Catholic Church has served the poor. The bishops of the United States have made it known to the
president that they will not be told how to be charitable. The president has, in turn, given them one year to
figure out how to comply. The bishops have no intention of compromising Catholic conscience.
Wishing God’s forgiveness and peace for all your deceased loved ones this month of All Souls, I am,
Sincerely in Christ, (Nuoširdžiai Kristuje),
Fr. Stephen Zukas

The Increased Offertory Campaign:
Commitment Weekend Nov. 17th & 18th
Each registered parishioner/family should have received two
separate mailings from Fr. Zukas during the month of October.
The first was an announcement letter and the brochure,
explaining the Increased Offertory Campaign and our needs. In
the second mailing, you and your family are being asked to
consider a specific increase to your regular parish giving. Please
pray about this request.
Volunteer Advocates will be calling each household to ensure
each parishioner has received the information and has an
opportunity to ask questions and be fully informed about our
plans. The Increased Offertory Campaign is a program about
sacrifice, about giving back to God, and about strengthening the
future of St. Peter Lithuanian parish. Each parishioner/family is
asked to prayerfully consider this request and to turn in their
commitment form during our Commitment Weekend, November
17th
and 18th
.
