ESCAPE NEWSLETTER No 2: 30 December 2014

1) eTwinning: the new platform is already very much alive, thanks to Alena from Tabor, lots of

material on twin space

2) Happenings in AUSTRIA:

Open Day: On 28 November 2014 we had our open day at school, during which we presented the new

strategic partnership to visitors.

We managed to hang up flags from all participating countries. Here you see teachers and students

involved in the presentations

Furthermore; our students had done research about the participating towns, which were presented on a desk.

Visitors could win a small prize by recognising European flags

3) Contact meeting at the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce

On December 18, 2014, we had a meeting with representatives of the Upper Austrian Chamber of

Commerce, during which we presented the project and asked for support for our project.

The most important outcome for the moment was that we can do a Kick-off event on their premises

during our first training event in February 2015.

On top of that, we were promised they would help us find enterprises to support our project.

4) EUSDR-label

In December 2014, we were also informed that our project has been labeled by the Danube Region

Strategy Steering Committee, so that we can use the label of PA 09 – skills and people

5) Preparations for the First Training event in Linz: (2 – 7 February 2015)

Preparations for the first training event have developed. The programme has been sent out and an

invitation has been sent to Vidin, where such an invitation by the hosting school is needed.

We have booked guided tours at AEC for Friday, 6 February 2015 hopefully the touristic highlight of

the week. In January 2015, the remaining steps will be taken to make the training event a really

successful one.

6) Dissemination: The Erasmusplus wall at BHAK Linz is growing by hanging up more and more

information, a sign that also our project is developing

7) Any Other Business:

In the course of my research for touristic opportunities I ran across a long-distance walking trail called

Sultan´s Trail, mainly along the Danube. Maybe we can discuss opportunities in Linz concerning that.

Another thing that has come to my mind is that we might promote a typical product from each region

or town. For example, for Linz it could be Linzer Torte, a particular kind of cake – I am sure there is

something in each town.

In short my second bimonthly newsletter. I wish you all a Happy New Year 2015 and hope to see you

in Linz in February 2015.
