Reception Graduation It was just fantastic to see our Reception children
graduate from the Early Years on Monday. They are
certainly ready for the next stage of their education.
The children sang songs and read a poem and were
then presented with their Graduation Certificate.
‘We are ready for Year 1.’ Jude
‘I’m sad to be leaving Reception and excited about Year 1.’ Pavlos
All Saints Taster Day: Y5 The children in Y5 enjoyed their
Secondary Taster day at All Saints this
week. ‘We did football, basketball and
an assault course. It was really fun, I did
something I’ve never done before and at
the end we all got an All Saints water
bottle.’ Oliver
Kew Gardens: Y1 The children in Y1 visited Kew Gardens on Monday to
learn more about plants. This links with the unit they
have been doing in Science.
‘I had so much fun at Kew gardens because I really enjoyed playing in the new children's playground, the
slide was good!’ Leon
‘My favourite place was in the shade under the Oak tree.’ Khalell
‘I loved the trampoline in the ground in the Adventure playground.’ Mrs Walsh
Award for Outstanding Service I am so proud to inform you that Mrs Maguire,
our Assistant Head and SENCO, was presented
with an award last night for Outstanding
Service to the Diocese.
Mrs Maguire has worked tirelessly for our
children since 1991. In recent years, she has
worked with our SEN children and families but
she has had a wide variety of roles in her time
at St Mary’s.
We value her so much and know that she is a
very deserving recipient.
Congratulations Mrs Maguire!
Green Stickers Congratulations to Y2 and Y6 for winning the
green sticker award this week. These classes will
have an extra playground session.
Well done!
Whole Foods Trip This week, we had our final trip as part of the
Food to Market project. The children travelled to
Whole Foods in Fulham to sell their chutney.
They did a super job and really learnt a lot from
this project. They even met Callum Best and the
Mayor of H&F!
‘We went to the whole foods market to sell
chutney and jam. We sold 11 products in total; 2
were jams and 9 were chutney’s.’ Galila in Y4
Author Visit: Dan Freedman The children in Y5&6 have been reading
‘Unstoppable’ in class. The author, Dan Freed-
man, took time out from his busy schedule yester-
day to talk to these two classes. The children
asked him some interesting questions; about this
book and also about being an author and his time
working with the English football team. ‘Y5&6
had a skype phone call with Dan Freedman (the
famous author of Unstoppable and the widely
popular Jamie Johnson series). We asked him
many questions and it was a really good experi-
ence.’ Edward in Y6
Bute House Concert: Y3&4 The children in Y3&4 performed at the
Hammersmith Town Hall yesterday along with
other schools. What a great opportunity for our
children.
‘The songs were: This is me, Will you go, Just
like a Roman and In my life.’ Kamsi
Beauty and the Beast: Y5&6 What a performance our children gave on
Wednesday evening. We were so impressed with
their confidence and how well they took on their
characters. The audience was amazed by the array
of talent we have in our school.
Well done children on a fantastic performance!
‘It was really good; all the outfits and props, all
the singing and acting went really well. My
character was Lefay and I held Gaston’s (Isaiah’s)
gun. We had to do it twice, for the school at
1:30pm and at 6pm for our parents.’ Michael in

educating the heart is no education at all.’ Aristotle
Y6 Leaver’s Assembly The Y6 children shared their memories of their
time at St Mary’s in our leaver’s assembly today. It
was very emotional; we laughed and cried. The
children sang beautifully and they also danced very
well. We are so impressed with the confidence and
articulate people they have become. It was
fantastic to see so many parents in attendance.
Final Assembly All parents are invited to our final assembly which
will take place on Friday 19th July at 9:10am. At
this assembly we will announce our Stars of the
Term, our attendance winner, our Year 6 award
winners and we will farewell staff that are leaving
and our Y6 class.
Legoland The children with 100% attendance and
punctuality had a fantastic time at Legoland on
Tuesday.
‘My favourite part was the scary house; the chairs
were moving and they were twisting around and
around. I had a really fun time.’ Chelsea in Y1
’I liked it when we got to steer a real steering
wheel in a boat. There was a yellow on, a red one
and a blue one. It was very fun.’ Arthur in Y1
‘Legoland was extremely fun. I especially enjoyed
the ride with water. I was so happy. It was the
best day of my life.’ Clarice in Y6
