Page 1 Our school will be hosting some ALNF training tomorrow and Wednesday for staff from across the region. Kempsey Science Day Students will be involved in the Science Day on Thursday 31st May. Twenty-four students from 5/6N and 4/5S will travel by bus to Kempsey High School. Students will need to be at school before 9am. They will need to bring their own lunch and be in full school uniform. Robotics Challenge As technology leaders in the region, our school has organised for over 150 students from across the region, including 16 of our own, to meet at Melville High School next Tuesday for the Robotics Challenge. Joining us will be the STEMShare team from Sydney who are heading up a $23 Million project around Robotics in schools. Senior students have been invited to attend. Mr Andrew Kuchling Principal . Principal’s message

Changing Newsletters We are committed to providing our families with the most current and up to date information about what is happening in our schools. As such, we have an active facebook page, school website and weekly newsletter.

Given changing trends in communication globally, our school has decided to modify how regularly we send out formal paper copies of the newsletter.

From this week, we will publish a newsletter in the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th and 10th weeks of each Term. Our facebook page and website will continue to host current and up to date information between editions of the newsletter.

Congratulations to all of our Year 3 and Year 5 students who participated in NAPLAN this year. Due to our heavy focus on embedding technology in education, we were one of a small number of schools selected to do NAPLAN online. It was a resounding success and from student exit comments, it was definitely their preferred method for testing as well.

Questacon The Shell Questacon Science Circus will be at Kempsey South Public School on Monday 4th May with all students from Kindergarten to Year 6 invited to attend. BASKETBALL Basketball for Primary school age children oper-ates at Melville High School in Hall 2 from 5:15 till 6:15 on Monday afternoons. Cost $3. The youngsters are taught skills and play with a smaller ball and lowered backboards. All new players wel-come.

This year our school is extremely lucky to be hosting a visit from the Shell Questacon Science Circus. The Shell

Questacon Science Circus presenters visit local schools to present lively and energetic science shows using everyday

materials and props.

All students from Kindergarten to Year 6 are invited to participate in the Questacon Science Circus. The Questacon

Science Circus will be at Kempsey South Public School on Monday 4th June 2018. The cost for students to attend is

$5.00 per student. This will also give students a ticket to an additional show at the Slim Dusty Centre on Tuesday

5th June 2018 from 4pm-7pm which allows parents and children to share, discover and explore science together.

If you would like your child/children to attend this exciting production please complete and return the permission

note and $5.00 to the classroom teacher by Friday 2nd June 2018
