Biometric Verification Activity22nd & 23rd June 2019

To facilitate our members and staff, Biometric Verification of Bank Accounts, as per the directions of State Bank of Pakistan, was organized at Bhojani Hall.

Account holders of Bank Al Habib and HabibMetro Bank were facilitated in this exercise in which large number of male and female members of the community participated.

Seminar on Asset Declaration, Budget and CPEC Investment Opportunities23rd June 2019

JIBA Karachi Chapter in collaboration with KPSIAJ organized a Seminar at Karachi Gymkhana under the title of Asset Declaration, Budget and CPEC Investment Opportunities.The speakers of the seminar included Mr. Rashid Sami (seasoned businessman), Mr. Zeeshan Merchant (Treasurer JIBA-Karachi and Advocate High Court Sindh), Mr. Faraz Merchant (Advocate High Court Sindh), Mr. Badruddin Qureshi (Chief Collector RTO-II) and Mr. Ali Rahim (Former President Karachi Tax Bar) while H.I Asghar Hussain Shaheedi (Hon. Secretary KPSIAJ and JIBA) was the Master of Ceremony.

The speakers briefed the attendees on various aspects of Budget 2019, Asset Declaration Scheme 2019 along with various business opportunities in Skardu, Baltistan especially in tourism and fish farming.The seminar was followed up by a Q&A session along with vote of thanks by Mr Mohsin Dharsi, President JIBA-Karachi Chapter and Mr Abul Hassan Gokal, President KPSIAJ.

Appreciation Ceremony for Telethon 2019 Volunteers

In recognition of the volunteers’ time and services, an iftar and appreciation ceremony was organized for Media Volunteers of KPSIAJ Telethon 2019.The volunteers aided with a number of things ranging from content creation, graphic designing, social media management and outreach, and coordinating with event sponsors and guests.It was due to the dedicated efforts by these volunteers that helped us organize and execute this event with extreme efficiency.

A delegation from HadiTV under Moulana Hasan Misbah s/o Ayatullah Misbah (Iraq) visited Karachi to view different initiatives operating under KPSIAJ.The delegation was given a tour to different projects of Fatimiyah Education Network, Fatimiyah Hospital and Fatimiyah Sports Center (FSC).

Summer Professional Development Program 2019

Two weeks of extensive training programs were organized, in collaboration with HR Department - KPSIAJ, for the faculty and employees of Fatimiyah Education Network after their return from the summer break.8 value based sessions and 7 professional development sessions were organized to equip the employees with the necessities of their professions.Sessions included Effective Teaching Strategies by Mr. Samad Abbas (Director at Training and Consultancy services), Effective Communication Skills by Mr. Muhammad Baqar (EDLAB Pakistan), Stress Management by Ms. Batool Azra and character-building in students by Mr. Zahid Ali Zahidi and Mr. Kazim Naqvi.

Professional Development & Quality Assurance (PD & QA)

Competency Test Analysis

The PD & QA department annually conducts competence test for core subjects at Fatimiyah Schools to help determine the effectiveness of teaching & learning.Activities at PD & QA related to competency test include development of test papers, marking of test answer scripts, competence test result analysis and reporting, comparative analysis and reporting of final exam and competence test results.This activity helps to determine the effectiveness of teaching & learning methodologies. It also checks the level of retention of concepts among students, identifies the weak areas and facilitates teachers in adopting suitable remedial measures.

Summer Session Feedback Analysis

Development of Activities for Students

The PD & QA department performed a quantitative analysis of the feedback provided by participants of the professional development sessions, organised by HR department at FEN. The aim was to determine the extent to which these sessions were useful and memorable for the participants.

The PD & QA department has also initiated the development of a skill enriched curriculum. In its first phase, skill based handbooks were prepared for the teachers along with refresher sessions. Currently, as an addition, the department is working on the preparation of grade wise skill-based activities for students across all subjects.

International Nurses Day

Management of Electrolyte Abnormalities in Critically ill Children

As part of the regular training and development sessions at Fatimiyah Hospital, Dr. Murtaza Ali Gova conducted a session on the Management of Electrolyte Abnormalities in Critically ill Children.The speaker comprehensively explained Electrolyte disturbances, its management, the necessity of determining an underlying cause and the need for vigilant monitoring during the correction. Multiple clinical scenarios were also discussed during the session, particularly those from wards and neonatal intensive care units.

The International Nurses Day 2019 was celebrated by Fatimiyah School of Nursing and Fatimiyah Hospital in recognition of the services of nurses in patient care.The event was organized on the theme of “Nurse: A voice to lead. Health for All.” as shared by the International Council of Nurses.During the event, FSoN students held a lamp lighting ceremony, the clinical nursing staff did a role play while certificates were also awarded for the high achievers.The event was attended by Dr. Inayat Thawer and Dr. Najma Thawer (Guest of Honor) along with Hon. Secretary KPSIAJ H.I Asgher Hussain Shaheedi, Mr. Sarwar Ali, Mr. Rafiq Tharia and other distinguished members of Fatimiyah Hospital and KPSIAJ.

Female Swimming Gala

The first female swimming gala by FSC comprised of 4 main events; 25m freestyle, 25m breaststroke, 25m backstroke and a 25x4 freestyle relay.Ms. Quratul Ain emerged as a winner in the 25m freestyle while breaststroke and backstroke competitions were won by Ms. Raena. The winning relay team comprised of Ms. Shanzeh Fatima, Ms. Qirat Fatima, Ms. Fizza Fatima and Ms. Quratul Ain.The closing ceremony of the event, which was attended by Women Councillors of KPSIAJ, also included Special Awards and Best Swimmer for the Day Award.

Eid Festival Program

Eid Festival was organized at the Fatimiyah Family Park to serve as a leisure day out for families.Numerous activities, stalls and lucky draws kept the members entertained while the jumping castles and inflatable slide served as an attraction for kids.A prize distribution ceremony was also held for the winners of FSC Swimming Gala & FSC Cage Cricket Tournament.
