He is seeking for you to be faithful to Him. Faithful to seek Him in prayer, faithful to study His Word, faithful with the blessings He has entrusted to you, faithful to serve, faithful to grow as a disciple, faithful to worship, and to be faithful to His church. The question that you and I must answer for ourselves is, “Will we truly be faithful?” It’s something that no one else can decide for you; you must decide that for yourself. We can blame our lack of faithfulness on many different things and many different people, but when it all comes down to it, it’s a decision that only you can make. Are you willing to be completely faithful to the Lord? God is God… All the Time!! Bro. Paul

Dear Church Family,

For 2017, “Faithfulness” is our focus. So, in order for us to really determine how to be faithful, we will be beginning a brand new sermon series on February 5th called “Spiritual Disciplines”. The focus of Spiritual Disciplines is for us to recognize where we are in our relationship with Christ and seek to do all that we can to strengthen that relationship through our faithfulness. From February 5th to April 2nd we will be examining several spiritual disciplines with the intent of recommitting our lives to the Lord’s plan and desire for each of us. February 5th is also Baptist Men’s Day!! We will be celebrating our men with an all men’s choir, testimonies, and a BBQ lunch!!! We just need members to bring the sides and desserts. Also, we are asking everybody to wear their favorite camo to church!! It’s going to be a great day so come and join us!! As we look toward the Easter season in early Spring we have scheduled a Work Day for Saturday, March 25th!! We will meet at 8:00am in order to get some things touched up for Easter Sunday. We are going to need people to help clean, dust, hang dry wall, paint, and re-organize some rooms. Also, we have a major project that needs to be done with painting the front steps. We will need to prep the steps a few days beforehand. If we could get a couple of volunteers to help, that would be great!! April 16th is Easter Sunday!! We will begin with an early worship service at 8:00am with breakfast following at 9:00am. Sunday School will be at regular time at 9:45am with our Easter Worship Service following at 10:50am. Greetings brothers & sisters, Well, we have a new President, and our land is in chaos. Whether you are for him or not, he needs our prayers! All our government officials need our sincere prayers for the success of our nation! 1 Timothy 2:1-2, urges us to pray for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, … Now is the time for Christians in every corner of this great nation to pray fervently for our leaders! I hope you are praying for our Pastor as well! He needs our prayer support as much or more than our political leaders, so that he may be bold in proclaiming the gospel message without apology. Much prayer-much power! During a quiet time recently I was reading in Exodus 35 and 36 as Moses gathered all the congregation and spoke of honoring God by observing a Sabbath of rest to the Lord, and that whoever was of a willing heart, to bring an offering to the Lord. The people gave and gave until the workmen came to Moses and spoke thus; “The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work which the Lord commanded us to do.” Imagine, if we each one asked God to make our hearts willing, all the many things that could be accomplished for God's great kingdom. Let’s pray on that. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says-if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. And verse 15 says-Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. Let that place be our hearts oh Lord! See you in church real soon?!? “Sing”cerely, Dale

Many thanks to those who helped to make the booklet possible. DID YOU KNOW?” Bro. Joe Knowles was called to be pastor of FBC Tipton in June of 1967. He is the youngest pastor we have every had, coming here at the age of 29. He and his wife Suzanne (Suzy) and baby son Joey were here only a short time, leaving eleven months later to enter the Seminary in Fort Worth.

Question: Where is the cornerstone of the church located? What is inscribed on it?

Thoughts for Valentine’s DayThoughts for Valentine’s DayThoughts for Valentine’s DayThoughts for Valentine’s Day Valentines Day, a time when thoughts turn to love. But what is love? Is it a box of chocolates, or a pretty valentine? Is it a red rose, or maybe a dozen? Is it a peck on the cheek, a fond embrace, or a big bear hug?

Well, sometimes love is known in those ways. But love, real love, is how we relate to God and to one another if life is what it ought to be — beautiful!

And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the

greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 - (NKJV)

God’s conversation hearts Those familiar conversation hearts that show up every

February can be more than just trite romantic or friendly

sayings. Use them to remind you — or to teach a child —

of the greatest love of all: God’s love for us, which em-

powers our love for others.

For example:

• TRUE LOVE: What love is truer than giving up one’s

only Son so people might have everlasting life?

(John 3:16).

• MINE: Jesus knows us intimately, as a shepherd knows

his sheep. No one can snatch us from him

(John 10:27-29).

• FOREVER: God loves us with an “everlasting love”

(Jeremiah 31:3).

• LOVE ME: The greatest commandment is to love God

with our whole being (Luke 10:27).

• TRUST ME: “Let not your hearts be troubled.” We can

count on Jesus, now and for eternal life (John 14:1-3).

• SWEET TALK: God’s words are sweeter than honey

(Psalm 119:103).

• BE GOOD: We show our love for Christ by keeping his

commands (John 14:15).

• CALL ME: God longs to be in fellowship with us. We can

talk to him anytime in prayer (Jeremiah 33:3).

• FRIENDS: The greatest love involves laying down your

life for your friends (John 15:13) — precisely what Jesus

did.

• #1: “We love because [God] first loved us”1 John 4:19).

Parable of the Pencil

The Pencil Maker took a pencil aside, just before putting him into the box. “There are 5 things you need to know,” he told the pencil, “before I send you out into the world. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best pencil you can be.”

1. You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in someone’s hand.”

2. You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but you’ll need it to become a better pencil.”

3. You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make.” 4. The most important part of you will always be what’s inside.” 5. On every surface you are used on, you must leave your mark. No matter what the condition, you must continue to write.”

The pencil understood and promised to remember, and went into the box with purpose in its heart. Now, if we replace the pencil with ourselves, and we become the best ones we can be.

1. We will be able to do many great things, but only if we allow ourselves to be held in God’s hand. 2. We will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, by going through various problems in life, but we will become

stronger people. 3. We will be able to correct any mistakes we might make. 4. The most important part of who we are will always be what’s on the inside. 5. On every surface we walk through, we must leave our mark. No matter the situation, we must continue to do our duties.

This parable on the pencil should encourage us to know that we are special in the sight of God and we are the only ones who can fulfill the purpose to which we were born to accomplish. We must never become discouraged and think that our life is insignificant and cannot make a change (Isaiah 64:8). God has put breath in our physical bodies for a reason, and we must seek Him in prayer to find what His purpose and plans are for us. Only when we seek Him can we discover that plan and that purpose. In other words, we must be submitted to the Lord just as a pencil is submitted to the writer’s hand (Proverbs 3:5-6) (Jeremiah 29:11-14). Consequently, we must allow the Lord to write through our life things that will never be erased. Each pencil has the potential to write the greatest of stories, but it first must be held in the writer’s hand, and so it is with us. We have the potential to do many great things…if only we submit to the Master’s Hand and let God have His way (Jeremiah 33:3) (Philippians 4:13).

Christian High School Students Create New Holidays to Honor Jesus

A Christian high school principal named Tommy was determined to have the students continually work on challenging projects designed to strengthen their faith. With that goal in mind, Tommy instructed the institution’s teachers to give their students a special assignment. In a memo, Tommy wrote, “Please have each student create a new and unique holiday. There are only two rules. The number one rule is the new holiday must honor the Lord Jesus Christ. Rule two is the idea must be submitted in written form, a single paragraph of no more than 50 words.” The memo’s closing sentence stated, “The top three ideas will result in new school holidays being added to the school’s schedule.” Tammy, a senior, was a committed and vocal believer in Jesus Christ. Tammy’s proposed new holiday: Creation Day. Tammy wrote, “Creation Day will honor and bring attention to the Lord Jesus Christ as the creator and ruler of the universe. This new holiday will give all of us students an opportunity to acknowledge and honor Jesus as the giver and sustainer of life.” Turner’s suggested new holiday was Forgiveness Day. “Forgiveness is a very important aspect of the Christian faith,” he reasoned. “So it’s crucial for us to forgive those who sin against us. After all, Jesus forgives us when He saves us from sin.” Timmy’s idea for a new holiday was Day of Love. “Many times, we are not very loving,” he noted. “We get a certain kind of feeling and call it love. Truthfully, love is not a feeling. It’s a commitment. It’s being and doing, not feeling.” Tommy was extremely impressed with the winning suggestions of Tammy, Turner and Timmy. The principal issued a news release to the local newspapers praising the teenagers and their winning entries. “The Lord Jesus will be honored as we observe these new holidays,” he promised. Tommy quoted First Samuel 2:30, “Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me forever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honor me I will honor, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.” Tommy closed the news release with this statement: “Our school will always honor and exalt the Lord. If we draw near unto God, He will draw near unto us. And all of us should desire to be as close to the Lord as we can get!”
