Anne of Green Gables Book Review by Melanie Do you like books such as Junie B Jones? If you say yes, then you should like Anne of Green Gables. I think this is a very awesome chapter book. The story is by L.M.Montgomery and takes place on Prince Edward Island in Canada. There are 8 books. There are two versions and the junior one is the one you should read. I loved Anne of Green Gables because she is funny and a chatterbox. She is a very detailed person and has a wild imagination. For example she named a lake, a “Lake of Shining Waters” because she thought “Barry’s Pond” was a boring name for such a beautiful lake. Once she even said her name was Cordelia because she thought her own name was too plain. She also has a very special friend named Diana. Gilbert, is a boy in school who is annoying and very cheeky. Anne sure is brave enough to whack Gilbert with her slate. Also, did you know that Anne was 12 when she tasted ice cream for the first time? Plus, Anne is very brave because she saves a little girl’s life from the croup, and she climbs on something and falls down, but I can’t tell you unless you read the book… I hope you get a chance to read this wonderful story of Anne Shirley and her many mischiefs and adventures!!!! A Short Story By: Leanna

A long time ago, there was a girl who was happy and sometimes sad. She had long hair just like Rapunzel. She was Rapunzel’s sister. They loved each other and had the same room. They both loved to read and their mom always helped them do their homework.

The Best Class Party Ever!

By Christian

The best class party I ever had was the end of the year party in 3rd Grade. It was in June and was a nice summer day! Everybody was excited! We played with water balloons filled with green water. Partners would toss it back and forth. Whichever team can last the longest without the balloon popping was the winner. Almost everybody got soaked! Another activity that we did was playing with water soaked sponges. Since it was a hot day no one complained about getting wet! We ate delicious hamburgers and hot dogs. Everyone had a great time! Finally, we all received beach balls to take home! Hooray!

The Chicago Cubs!

By Ari

The Chicago Cubs are a Major League Baseball Team. They have not won the baseball championship (The World How long is 108 years? Here are some things that have happened since the Cubs last won the World Series: both World War One and World War 2 happened, television was invented, the inference was invented, the Empire State Building was built, and sliced bread was invented! Plus, there were only 26 states in the United States.

Fans of the Cubs say that they have not won the World Series in 108 years because there was a curse on their team. The curse is called “The Curse of the Billy Goat” and it happened when Billy Goat Tavern’s owner Billy Sianis was asked to leave a Cubs game because the odor from his goat was making fans mad. He said that the Cubs would never win another World Series.

This year’s baseball playoffs started in early October and the Cubs are one of the teams in the playoffs. The Cubs have a great team…many baseball experts believe they have the best team in baseball this year, so maybe this will be the year the curse ends! We will find out soon!

Obstruction to Deer Homes

By: Sree

Due to ever increasing demand for commercial and residential space, sometimes wide area of spaces like wilderness, forests look like they are no so important.

Sometimes, we think that the forests could be replaced by shopping malls or houses. But, they shouldn’t be replaced by anything. Forests and wilderness are important because there are animals like deer.

For example, there are woods near my house and some of these are being cut down to build homes. Sometimes, when I drive to a nearby skating ring, I see huge construction site where malls are being built.

That is the reason a lot of animals are living in other people’s backyard. Sometimes, when I am playing in my backyard, I notice many deer hiding in the trees.

I think that it is important for animals to live and I think people should relocate these animals or send them to zoos before they construct any new buildings or homes.
