Davenport Elementary Gravity Sewer Project
The City of Davenport is upgrading the water lines in Davenport between South Boulevard and North Boule-vard and Between East Boulevard and West Boulevard. Construction has begun on the West side of US 17/92.
This project has a contract of 18 months and the Notice to proceed was given on November 1, 2019, however the contractor has agreed to have the project substantially completed in 12 months. The construction of the 16-inch water line on the West side is 75% complete and the 6-inch water line is about 50 % complete. It is antici-pated that the crossings of the railroad will begin around March 30th, 2020 and then construction will begin on
the East side of US 17/92. During the construction, roads and sidewalks will be periodically closed and could be impacted by the construction activities. The contractor will be responsible for returning the Right of Way to the original condition or better. The City of Davenport has instructed the contractor to avoid demolition of
streets, sidewalks and trees where possible, however there will be some instances where that is not possible due to conflicts with other utilities or rules governing separation of water and wastewater lines. In these cases, the City will work with the contractor to minimize the impact of the construction on the infrastructure and
trees.
