‘HAPPY NEW YEAR'‘HAPPY NEW YEAR'‘HAPPY NEW YEAR'
Mr Madhukar Jha
Dear Parents, Family and Friends of OMK
‘'A new year has arrived and the possibilities are endless.''
To cultivate children with attributes that will help them flourish as good human
beings is the supreme enterprise of any educational institution. They must be
exposed to lessons that will catalyse their development. Here at OMK we have
been perpetually working to meet the set targets and to be very honest, I feel very
delighted that we are progressing towards the goals very briskly. Students are our
assets and the crucial task of nation building lies on their shoulders.
The month of December was a very proportional blend of academics and activities.
Where the students consciously appeared for the Post Mid Term Examination, to
release their stress they also indulged themselves into a medley of activities.
Further Grade 10 students were kept aloof from activities so that they do not
encounter any distraction as they will be appearing for their Board Examination.
With the above stated note, I present the report for the month of December.
TUMBLING FEET IN THE GREENS
Out of all the marvellous creations that adorn our world, the creation which tops the list is of the
children. Children have the ability to pull out anyone from deep stress. Their innocence and smile are
potent enough to shatter all illogical restrictions and barriers. The children are true treasure of any
nation and it becomes very essential to bring about all round development in them. It is the children
who will craft the fate a of a nation.
To take a break from the academic schedule, the tinkling kids of Grade K2 went on an excursion to
Sanjay Gandhi Jaivik Udyan on 06.12.2018.The excitement and the happiness of the kids that could
be glanced on their faces, poised us. It was a great experience for them and they enjoyed a lot.
WINTERATURE - 2018
Literature is one such section in today's educational genres that is capable of establishing itself as the best
companion. It can make up for anything that is lacking in your life to some extent. It proves to be a very loyal
friend who has no complaints or demands. It provides warmth to those whose lives have transformed into a
chilled bundle of relationships.
Keeping in mind the above stated note, the chilly winters shook hands with Literature and what protruded was
'WINTERATURE'. To render students an exposure to various oratory and literary skills that will also help
paramount their literary capabilities, a two day literary festival called'WINTERATURE' was organized on
27.12.2018 and 28.12.2018 for the students of Grades 1 to 9. Activities such as Poem Recitation, Debate
Competition and Speech Contest were organised. Discussions/Lectures on various aspects of Literature were
also a constituent. More than100 students across the mentioned grades participated in the various
competitions. The festival proved to be one of a kind and left the premises overwhelmed with the un-parallel
literary discussions.
THE JUSTIFYING JURY MEMBERS
K2 SPORTS DAY - 2018
Games and sports are one of those needs that cater the development of the children roundabout. After a
particular span of academic schedule, children should be encouraged to engage themselves in sports
activities. It is aptly stated that the best place to exhaust all your extra energy is in the playground.
It was undoubtedly an occasion of extreme mirth and gaiety for our K2 students as they actively put up their
participation jerseys and hit the playground with full energy. The slow and careful steps they took depicted
their indulgence in the activities organized during the Annual Sports Day of K2 on 28.12.2018.It was a
time of rejuvenation, filled with fun and frolic for them as they took part in the running race, frog race,
chocolate race, balloon race and bag pack race.
WE RAN!
SPELL BEE COMPETITION - 2018
A swarm of bees scares everyone but a swarm of spelling bees seems quite entertaining and enjoyable
to play with.
After various screening tests at school and district level, two students of OMK qualified for the Spell Bee
Contest at the national level organised in Kolkata. We feel immensely delectable in announcing their
achievements.
From Grade 8, Shaily Pandey secured the 28th position in the country.
From Grade 7, Soumya Sinha secured the 36th position in the country.
Congratulations to both!!

TEACHERS OF THE MONTH
The biggest contentment for anyone is when he/she achieves his/her self- set targets.
The image that clears itself beyond the horizon after the accomplishment of the task
greets one with the joy of succeeding. At OMK we are emphatically working to bring
about all necessary tasks into action that will help our Alma Mater rise to unfathomable
height.
A TRIBUTE TO OUR PATRON- MAA SHARDA
“She is still there!”
“Goodbyes are for those who aren't to be remembered. It doesn't relate to all. For those who
exist in the heart are not bid farewell.”
The four seasons took a complete 360 degree turn and made us stand on the same dark day
(24.12.2018) when our lovable and humble patron, Maa Sharda departed from this
materialistic world for a journey to the heavenly abode. She had been a perennial source of
guidance for each one of us and will always be. A special assembly on her first 'Punya Tithi' was
conducted by OMKites in her remembrance in Sharda Auditorium . Family members of the
divine soul paid their homage. Imitating her kind gestures, our Directors distributed blankets
among the poor around the city. The hands of the poor children were adorned with stationery.
The sacred day finally came to a conclusion by a speech given by the Principal highlighting the
achievements and contributions of Maa Sharda.
