May I take this opportunity to wish you, and all of yours, a happy and productive 2015.

NEWS from Pre-Prep

Term has begun and all the boys are beginning to settle back into normal routine. Wednesday morning must have beenone of the darkest days in living memory and many people, boys and adults alike, looked rather bleary-eyed at 8 am.However, the innate enthusiasm of very small boys meant everyone was soon wide awake and firing on all cylinders. Itwas a real delight to see everyone and I went to have a chat with Reception and asked them where they had been inthe holidays. One boy had been to the Caribbean, another had been in his grandmother’s cellar. The trip to Antiguaelicited no interest from anyone but the boys were very keen to know how dark and scary the cellar had been. It mustbe lovely to be so easily pleased. The boys have only been back three days but the Christmas break is rapidlydisappearing into the mists of time. Happy New Year everyone and have a great weekend.

Sports NEWS

FROM THE DIRECTOR OF SPORT

Happy New Year! Please can you check through the fixtures on the calendar and let me know which weekends your son is unavailable. Ifyou see there is a clash could you email to let me know straightaway as this makes the planning of fixtures much easier.Could I also ask that you don’t arrange any birthday parties for your son on the same day as his year group havefixtures as the boys do want to represent their school team.

With sporting fixtures there are always changes and additions, as I try to get the boys playing in as many matches aspossible. If I see that another school does not have a game on the same day as we have some teams free, I will try toorganise some matches. We will try to get team sheets out on the Friday before the next week’s matches. However, wewill delay the team sheets for next week so that we can try and ensure that we have the boys in the right groups. Thereis always movement between the teams depending on how different boys progress. Just because a boy trains with acertain coach this does not mean he has been promoted, but will probably mean that the coach is looking at him to seeif he fits into that group. If you have any worries or concerns please email me on [email protected]
