Interact Club of Delhi Public School conducted a
special assembly on onAugust 3, 2016
conservation of environment with a special
emphasis on conservation of the most precious
resource 'water’. The Guests of Honour were
Rotarians: andMajor Dalbir, Mr. Himanshu
other dignitaries from Rotary Club of Noida.
Principal, Mrs. Indira Kohli, urged the students to
pledge their allegiance to the environment and contribute to the conservation of
environment in small but significant ways. A MIME act was presented on this occasion,
spreading awareness amongst the audience. A tree plantation drive was also initiated by
the Principal, Mrs. Indira Kohli, Mrs. Bhawna Khanna Coordinator Senior School,, –
Rotarians: Major Dalbir, Mr. Himanshu ,teachers and the students of the Interact Club
participated in the planting of saplings.
Shri Paryavaran MahotsavaShri Paryavaran Mahotsava, ,an Inter School event was
organized in Shri Ram Millenium School based on the theme
“Celebrating Earth” on Friday . This event, August 5, 2016
aimed at celebrating the uniqueness of our planet Earth
and a platform to the children to share theirproviding

glowing hours with flying feet. Inter DPS dance competition was'NRIT ANJALI'Y
conducted for classes in . 9VI to XII DPS INDRAPURAM on Aug 6 2016ust ,
students from participated in this prestigious event. The participants were:DPS,GBN
Jigyasa Sahay,Anshika Chauhan, Sanya Nepali,Aditi Singh,Puneet Awana,Ditya Chawla,
Aakshadha Mundra,Vanshika Yadav, Priyanshi Kamboj on the. The theme was based
novel of 'BALMIKI' and had a deep underlying message . Our: From darkness to light
dancers with their graceful moves and excellent coordination, gave a scintillating
performance and were applauded by one and all! .
INTER SCHOOL PATRIOTIC GROUP SONG COMPETITION
Amity International School, Sector-44, Noida organized anInter School Patriotic Group Song Competition on“Dhwani”Aug , 2016ust 8 . 33 Schools participated in this event.Students of DPS-GBN also participated in this event andrendered a patriotic song . It was a“Desh ki Guhaar Par”very fruitful and a good learning experience for the studentsand the teachers. DPS Society organized an Inter DPS Vocal
Music Festival on“Swaranjali” July 23,
2016 which was held at DPS Sushant Lok.
21 Delhi Public Schools including DPS,
GBN, participated in this event.
It was an enriching experience for the
students.
The theme of the event for solo singing
was “Chhota Khyaal in any Indian Classical
Raga” and for group was “Indian Folk”. The

INTER-HOUSE COMPETITIONThe Inter-House competition was held on August 9,
2016 for class VI-XI. The literary skills were judged
based on two categories: VI-VIII (Spin-a-yarn) &
Extempore (IX-XI). The teams were selected by the
house teachers after auditions, and participants
presented their skills to the best of their abilities. The
competition was judged by Ms Bhawna Khanna & Ms
Reena Khanna for Extempore, and Ms Gazal
Luthra & Ms Pooja Malik, for Spin-a-yarn. The
overall winners were announced based on the combined result of VI-XI and the
certificates were awarded to the best performers in their respective categories.

Aavishkar Quiz
As per the guidelines issued by CBSE- The Rashtriya
Aavishkar Abhiyan (RAA) organize a School leveld
competition for (TOPIC :“Aavishkar Quiz Series”
“Motion”) in the area of Mathematics, Science and
Technology, Delhi Public School, GBN also conducted the
first stage and second stage of the competition to promote
creativity and innovative spirit among school children .The
competition was conducted on for Level-I in three categories: PrimaryAugust 11, 2016
( I – V); Middle(VI – VIII) and Secondary(IX – XII).The candidates were selected in an
impartial manner involving all students interested in the Quiz competition. The students
were shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the competition and two students
were selected from each category. The winners of the competition in each category are :

The Level-II of the CBSE Avishkar quiz series was an online event which was conductedon in the school premises. The students shortlisted for level-I wereAugust 22 2016,the contestants in the CBSE Avishkar Online quiz series .The students logged in usingtheir user-id and password provided by the Board. The Level-II was conducted in threecategories as per the schedule:
Primary : 9:45 a:m to 10:30 a:m
Middle : 11:30 a:m to 12:15 a:m
Secondary : 1:00 p:m to 1:45 p:m

VANIJAY MAHOTSAV
Vanijay Mahotsav, was held at DPS, Ghaziabad on
Aug 12 2016ust , . The objective was to break the
monotony of theory classes and the event was
successful in meeting the objective. The event
consisted of:

Around 20 schools from Delhi and NCR participated and most of the team presented thes
ideas in a creative way. Eleven students from DPS, GBN participated in it. They were

FEMALE HYGIENE
A workshop on female hygiene was conducted by
representatives Mr Neyaz and Ms Khushboo ,from Canon
on . The workshop aimed at informingAugust 11, 2016
and apprising the girls, about . Cannonpersonal hygiene
dispensing and disposing units will be increased in
numbers, so as to promote the female hygiene and
prevent bacterial and viral infections due to the same. The
workshop was attended by girls of classes , under the supervision ofVII-XI Ms Priya
Arora.
HOMAGE TO OUR SOLDIERS
DPS, GBN 70 th Independencecelebrated theDay, in a solemn yet spirited manner. The functionwas presided by theover Chief Guest, FlightLieutenant J.P. Sharma along with Ms.Sudesh Sharma, Parents of Shahid CaptainShashikant Sharma- the hero of the Siachen,who laid his life in the Kargil war.down Theday began with the hoisting of the Indian Flagfollowed by the rendition of the patriotic songs bythe School Choir. This was followed by the welcome
address of our Principal Ms. Indira Kohli, who advised the students to take a solemnpledge to preserve the freedom so painstakingly our brave freedom fightersgained byand courageously guarded by our fearless soldiers. She advised the students to stayaway from corruption, injustice, inequality and truly imbibe the spirit of democracy intheir lives. Ma'am quoted the words of Shahid Captain Shashikant Sharma which hespoke to his Parents,“If I come back I will be your Son and if I don't, I will becalled as Nation's Son.”
To pay homage to our beloved soldiers the students of DPS, GBN lighted a lamp in the,portals of the School on August 14 . The Chief Guest in his address to the audience, 2016 ,advised the young generation to be focussed and determined. He cited examples fromthe life of Shahid Captain Shashikant Sharma and motivated the children to serve theNation. The event culminated with the planting of the medicinal saplings in the Schoolkitchen garden by the Chief Guest, Principal Maám, Coordinators and the students. Onthis occasion student presented history of the Indian Flag and its significance which, s thewas followed by the rendition of a indi Patriotic poem. Children participated in thehvarious activities lined up for them. A painting competition on the life of Dr. A.P. J.Abdul Kalam VI-XI Essaywas organised for the students of classes , along with anwriting competition Patriotism; on the theme of . Children even watched a movietitled “Gandhi” which was screened in the School Auditorium and understood the valuesof nonviolence and ahimsa.
A TRIP TO THE NATIONAL MUSEUM

National Museum at
New Delhi on August

museum happens to be
one of the largest
museums of India.
which houses more
than two lakh artefacts.
It holds variety of
articles ranging from pre-historic era to modern
works of art. Our students enjoyed the trip and it was
a great learning experience for one and all. They saw
work of art, currency, textiles, tools, pottery etc. right
from the Indus valley civilization to the modern time
period. It was an educational trip.
BLOOD DONATION CAMPBlessed are the young who can give back life with their blood—
Donate blood, save a life.
The was organised by theBlood Donation Camp "InteractClub" August 2016on in association with Rotary Club of6,Noida on the day of the Second Open House at DelhiPublic School, Gautam BuddhNagar. Teacher nchargesi along
with the students of Interact Club actively participated in thisBlood Donation Camp. Students were extremely excited to bepart of this club. A mobile van was sent from Rotary Club with ateam of expert doctors and other staff members who were verycooperative. Students motivated the parents to donate for thisnoble cause. 20 units of blood were collected by the end of theday. The Donors received a token of acknowledgement from the Rotary Club.
Inter-DPS National Chess Meet Boys (Open)-2016
Inter DPS National Chess meet 2016 for boys was hosted by DPS Aligarh, UP from
Aug 4 – 6 2016ust , . Around 49 schools participated in this meet. DPS, GBN was one of
the participatory schools. Our students performed extremely well and ranked 32.
