Let us know if you would like us to visit you or your church

Dear Friends and Family,As I write, we are waiting for yet another child to arrive. A four year old boy that cannot speak yet

because of the severity of the beating his mother has been giving him. Things are rarely dull here. We have

had our share of hardships and joys these past 4 months. We would not be able to conquer the hardships

or have the times of joy if you were not supporting us in both prayer and financially. Thank you and Merry

Christmas from all of here in Tzanchaj, Guatemala.

August 2011August 2011August 2011August 2011 Baby Felicity born Felicity was born on August 1st. We thank the

Lord for a quick birth and a healthy Baby. Deborah had a quick

recovery and was back to her normal duties in no time. Deborahs

parents came down this month to help with the new baby.

Van problems While going to the city a drunk threw a rock and didallot of damage to the windshield of the van. About two weeks

later while on our way to get the windshield repaired in the city,

the engine over heated and ruined the head. The van is still out of

service and we are praying it will be able to be repaired. This was

    our main vehicle.

SAT problems The social worker for our home had some bad news for us. We were not informed thatas a non profit in Guatemala we still had to file taxes. Needless to say we have about nine years in

back fines to pay. We are praying the government will decrease the fine due to the fact that we did

    not know about it.

New Boys We received two new boys this month. Alex and Angel. Alex, who has since returned to hisfamily, was half Canadian and spoke perfect English. Angel was a boy who was in the home a few

years back, and has returned since.

Baby Jacob sick Jacob, 15 months old, started having great trouble breathing and a rash of sorts. Weflew him to a hospital in the city with Josh and Donna. The doctors say he had a bad virus as well as

a severe reaction to dairy. Since then he is doing well. We have to give him an inhaler twice a day

and he cannot eat or drink dairy products.

September 2011September 2011September 2011September 2011 Visitors to see the spirit child Alex was said to be a spirit child that had wings and could disappear at

will. We do not know how the rumors got started. A group of about 15 women and their children

came to see the spirit child this month. We informed them that he is a normal boy and that it

would be inappropriate to display him like an animal.

Church anniversary The church we help run had its 5th anniversary this month. They also were able tofind a church leader.

Children sick All of the babies and many of the other children got sick this month. With seven sickbabies one finds him/her self cleaning up many fowl smelling things. All are well now, Praise the

Lord. We were running out of Lysol.

God provided a truck We had been praying for a new truck formonths. We were very specific in our prayers so that we knew

when the truck was from God. Sure enough the exact truck was

provided. Harvest ministries, Harvest Fellowship Church,

Freedom Fellowship Church and some unknown people raised

the funds. Thank you so much!

Another Boy We received a 5 yr old boy from the next town over. His name was Gabriel. He has sincebeen returned to his mother. We pray his mom will raise him correctly.

October 2011October 2011October 2011October 2011 VACATION! Our first one with thechildren. We took the children

to a resort on the coast. For

most of them it was their first

time seeing the ocean and the

sand. They had a great time.

A trip to the city We took thechildren to a childrens museum

in the city. We also did some

    shopping at Wal-Mart as well.

For some of them this was

    another first.

Trip to Canilla Josh and I took atwo day dirt bike trip up to some

    missionary friends in Canilla,

Quiche. We worked on the bikes and got to see some of the worst roads in Guatemala. (Fun with a

    dirt bike)

Baby Karina left Little baby Karina was placed in the custody of her fathers sister. We pray that sheis being taken care of correctly. You may remember she almost died when she first came.

November 2011November 2011November 2011November 2011 Began planting With the help of mission teams, the kids, and some paid workers, we finally cleared

part of the land. We planted a small crop of 100 lettuce, 100 broccoli, and 50 cabbage.

Spending time with the kids Since school is out we have been doing many different things with thekids. We have been going to the lake, to town, and doing some projects around the house.

Movie ministry Now that the rainy season is done, we have been showing movies in the local village. We pray that these movies and videos will help the local people think more about God and their

    relationship with Him.

Thanksgiving We are thankful we were able to have thanksgiving with 40 or so guests. We are alsothankful we were all able to celebrate another one.

    Child Highlight

    Name: Jacobo Daniel Reyes

    Age: 15 months

    Sex: Male

    Home Town: San Andreas, Quiche

    Arrival Date: November 25, 2011

    EST. DOB: August 9, 2010

Story: We first heard about Jacob onNov 22nd. We had gone to the

hospital in Quiche with a court order to pick up a baby girl (Whom we

later named Mercedes)who had been found naked lying by a river. At the

hospital while handing over Mercedes, the nurse asked us why we were not

picking up two baby boys as well who had been abandoned there much

longer than Mercedes. We told her that we needed a court order and that

she should inform the judge of the need. Two days later the court called

us saying they had forgotten about those two babies since when the

hospital originally informed them of a need for their placement there

were no homes that would take them(Babies, we were told, are too

expensive to raise). We agreed to take the baby boys whom we named Isaacand Jacob. The next day we flew up to Quiche to pick up the babies and

ended up picking up a 12 yr old girl(Maria) from the court, while we

were at it. It was a couple of months before we got the babies stories

straight. It turns out that Jacob was found lying in a field and was

taken to the hospital where he laid for 3 months waiting for someone to

ask about him. When no family was found, he was placed with us and at a

later hearing, declared permanent in our custody. Jacob is a happy,

bright, toddling little boy. We pray God helps us raise him to be a

    godly man.
