onto, and waiting on God to do and complete through me.” As this year comes to a close, there is one thing we can all say: We have survived! A sur-vivor is one who has remained existent and outlasted the cir-cumstance and situation; one who didn’t give up. We have made it to the finishing line. Now we cross over into 2012 and begin a new work-out” (processing, shaping, formatting, fitting), getting us ready for upcoming experi-ences in our lives. In this “workout” remember we must put our total trust, increased faith, and dependency in and upon the coach of our ‘team’, the Lord Jesus Christ our God. Start 2012 off in a godly way—commit to be present in Life Connection Group Sunday, January 1st at 9:30AM and Morning Worship at 10:45AM. What better way to honor the One who has brought you through to this point in your life? I look forward to seeing you on Sunday morning in Connection Group! The time is here again, the end of another year. For many of us, 2011 has been a year of processing, shaping, format-ting and fitting. Yes, the trials and hard times came, and may still be here, but we must know and believe that they came only to make us strong, to cause us to rely more com-pletely on our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” (James 1:2-4) NIV In the year to come 2012, we can still experience God “having our back”. How grate-ful I am to be assured of this—we live in a world that pushes selfishness, greed, and ungod-liness; yet as believers, we can still live according to the prin-ciples He teaches in His holy word. The state of the world should come as no surprise to us—in 2 Timothy 3, we read, “But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days
People will be lovers of them-selves, lovers of money, boast-ful, proud, abusive, disobedi-ent to their parents, ungrate-ful, unholy, without love, un-forgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have noth-ing to do with such people.” Wow! Paul puts it right on the line doesn’t he? Our lesson topic for the month of January is “Going Right in a Culture Gone Wrong”. We can do this with God’s help and guidance. We must have confidence deep down that only comes from God the Father. We must know who we are in Him and move forward in Him. In this “race” we are running, we must not become dis-tracted. If there are those run-ning the race with you who want to turn around or want to stop running and stay be-hind, you may have to tell them “Okay, I’ll see you later! 2012 for me is going to be a year of experiencing the vision, the dream, the promise that I’ve been working on, holding

Verse of the Month (Commit it to Memory!) A Living Sacrifice: Romans 12:1-2 (NIV) “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
