Community gardens promote recreation, exercise, therapy, stress-reduction and education. Having a community garden can reduce crime and preserve green space. These gardens are also an excellent way for a community to provide opportunities for intergenerational and cross-cultural connections. Initial Meeting A Great Success!

On July 13, the initial meeting to organize for the Hudson Community Garden was held at the Harvest Cafe. It was well attended and a great success. In addition to our friends from the Bolton Garden, who came to show support and provide practical guidance, several

being determined. Jennifer is in the process of applying for grants to help defer the costs. We are trying to think up ways to and reach out to members of our community and local businesses for assistance. We need financial support and people willing to get their hands dirty.

Hudson Community Garden is on way to securing a plot for the community garden. Thanks to the efforts of Al Morel, Jennifer Burney and Robert Burgess from Citizens for a Hudson Community Garden, we hope to secure a location for the garden by the end of the summer. The next step will be to???? get the land ready and create a water source. The plan for the garden is to have raised beds, a shed and a walking path with native plants.
