Bible: We continue to read in our Jesus Storybook Bible. We finished up our time in Europe and also in Asia as we travel around the world. Next week is Africa. Bible Memory: Matthew 6:9-13 (The Lord’s Prayer), Due: April 30 Math: * Money, dollars, and making change * Place value * Fractions and equal parts * Unit 8 Test Language Arts: I appreciate your support in reading the books with your child. We continue to practice these books in our reading centers during the week. With Senorita Casallas’ help we have made groups of 2-3 children, so we give them plenty of reading support! These last weeks our themes were plants and working together. We have read lots of fiction and nonfiction stories and are working on applying compare and contrast as well as using graphic organizers to highlight important information. The class has been having lots of time for free write and for creating sentences in Spanish!

Upcoming Events: April 18 No school, Good Friday May 2 Early dismissal, 12:30 May 23 Field Trip May 26 No school June 6 Last day, 11:00 dismissal

De la Señora: Friday, May 23 is our field trip. We will be visiting the Material Resource Center in Ephrata where MCC (Mennonite Central Committee) sends out relief to all parts of the world. We will then go to the Ten Thousand Villages store where we will get to do an around-the-world scavenger hunt and learn about crafts from all over the world. After this we will head to Oregon Dairy. We will eat our packed lunches and then get a tour of the dairy operation. We’ll also have time to play on their playground and ride the barrel train and the pedal tractors. It will be a full day! Look for a permission slip coming home at the beginning of May. Thanks for all of your support in the auction. Thanks also for the fun Easter party today!

REMINDERS: * I would love to have someone make our Yearbook pages. I have posted plenty of pictures on the Facebook page. Let me know if you are interested.
