Dear Parents
The start of the year has been a smooth one at Thomastown
Primary and students have settled really quickly to work and routines.
It is especially pleasing to see students behaving in accordance with our
School Values and Rights, both in the classroom and the yard.
When walking past or into rooms, children are obviously engaged in and
enjoying their learning.
Our senior students are busy taking part in trials and practising for the
Athletic Sports on 11th March. It is great to see pupils engaging in
regular fitness and physical activities.
‘Free Fruit Fridays’ are proving popular with students and providing a
healthy, nutritious snack to enjoy. Hopefully, this will encourage all
children to eat fruit as a regular part of their diet.
Thanks to parents for ensuring that their child has a broad-brimmed hat
to wear this term. It is certainly a necessity on the hot days we have
been experiencing.

FAMILY COOKING PROGRAM
As part of our Learning Support program parents will be invited to come to school and cook something
with their child and three friends.
Sessions will be held in the canteen every Tuesday at 2.30 for about an hour.
Parents will be asked to provide a recipe for something simple that they can make with the children in
about an hour.
THE SCHOOL WILL PROVIDE ALL EQUIPMENT AND INGREDIENTS.
This is a wonderful opportunity to have fun with your child and to see how cooking ‘bakes’ learning.
If you would like to be part of this program please complete the form below and return to school as soon
as possible.
Regards,
Sue Lauder,
Learning Support Teacher.
