“Take rest; a field that has rested gives a bountiful crop.” Ovid
The Roman poet offers wise words for the children. They have had a very busy term, which has been a week shorter than usual, but no less active. A good rest is well-deserved!
Your end-of-term envelopes contain your child’s report. Please work through the report with your child – there is a lot of information which they will need to internalise before the start of next term.
The envelopes also contain next term’s calendar for your planning purposes. The calendar will, as usual, be available on the School’s website.
Children Cameron Rawlins was awarded his 100km certificate at Monday’s assembly. Cameron was the only child to reach the 100km mark in cross country this year – congratulations to Cameron!
Sven Henriksen’s Old English Game Rooster won second place at the Prestige Show in Bloemfontein last weekend. Congratulations to Sven on his hard work!
Culture
Grade 5 and 6 Cultural Showcase – Thursday 23 June Mrs van Zyl would like to thank the Grade 5 and 6 children and their parents in advance for their support and the extra time committed to

the preparation for today’s show. Mrs van Zyl writes: “It was a great opportunity for me to work with every child. Our children are our future!”
Sport Good luck to all our children who are playing in the provincial sports festivals this holiday. The U11 KZN Squash players will be in Pretoria, the U13 KZN Squash players in Pietermaritzburg and the U13 KZN Rugby players will be in Sasolberg at the Primary Schools Craven Week.
A special word of congratulations to the 1st XV who ended their season unbeaten! The last time a Clifton team went unbeaten was in 1997 and for a school of 166 boys to produce a side as talented as this says much for both the coaching structures and the gene pool Clifton had at its disposal this year.
