  • 1914-2014 THE CENTENARY OF THE FIRST WORLD WAR St Bedes Catholic College with be commemorating the centenary of the First World War in a number of ways from September 2014. Year 9 pupils will be going on a Centenary First World War Battlefields Trip in October and all Year 9 pupils will be studying the First World War in their lessons. The History department would like to commemorate this event by creating a gallery display of photographs and information about family, relatives or friends of pupils and staff at St Bedes who either fought in the First World War, served in the auxiliary forces or who had an interesting story to tell about life on the Home Front. If you can supply us with any First World War stories and photographs, we will display the information alongside the St. Bedes pupils to whom they are connected. Please bring any information to Mrs Lewis in D13 by Friday, 5th September 2014.
