On Wednesday 11th June, eleven schools participated in the annual Quad Kids Athletics event. They were competing for two places representing North Bristol in the County Finals at Bath University. Each school team comprised of eight Year 5 and 6 pupils, four boys and four girls, who all took part in a 600m run, a 75m sprint, the stand long jump and the soft javelin. The eventual winners were Henleaze Juniors with Elmlea Juniors the runner up. On Thursday 19th June, we hosted the Year 3 and 4 Tri-Golf Festival. A series of eight different golf stations were set out for all the children to complete and accumulate points for their school. St Bonaventures school was the winner on the day and now go to the County Finals at Bath University on 2nd July. A big thank you to the Year 9 St Bedes pupils who helped out at both events to ensure that everything ran smoothly and the children enjoyed themselves.

POEM OF THE WEEK He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths, Enwrought with golden and silver light, The blue and the dim and the dark cloths Of night and light and the half-light, I would spread the cloths under your feet: But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams W.B.Yeats POSSIBLE STRIKE ACTION 10TH JULY 2014 I have just received notice that the NUT Teachers Union will be joining the public sector workers strike on 10th July 2014. I am in the process of looking at the timetable to ascertain how we might manage this strike action as it affects 27 of my teachers. I shall let parents know next week the impact it will have on the College.

    SPaG Matters Interesting trivia:
