Friday 13th December
children
successfully completed their
Bikeability training this week.
After the success of
October’s Bikeability course,
Year 5 have been delighted to
welcome back a team of instructors to help us learn to ride our bikes
safely on the road. Cycling is one of the easiest, cheapest and most
enjoyable ways of keeping fit and thanks to all their hard work and
determination, many children have managed to achieve a Level 1 or 2 Pass
in ‘Cycling Road Safety’- Well done! For any Year 5s, who have not yet
participated but would like to, or have achieved Level 1 and would like to
complete Level 2, or for those who are completely new to riding, we hope
to run another Bikeability in the Spring Term. Please get in touch to let us
know if your child would be interested so we can get a better idea of
numbers. Many thanks once again for your keen interest and support in
Bikeability.
Our Year 3 children showcased
their dancing flair on Thursday
when they performed an
incredible weather dance in front
of the entire school. The
performance was organised by
Chloe and Kirsty who are P.E
students at the University of
Central Lancashire.
What a fantastic ‘take up’ we have had to our challenge to read more. Our
Library has been well used during lunchtime. Please continue to remind your
children about this extra opportunity.
on Wednesday 18th December, we will be
opening our classroom doors to our parents and carers, you may come in with
your child and give them the opportunity to show you their books and share with
you what they are proud of. If is successful, we will make
this a regular event each half term, changing the day so that all of our parents /
carers can make it.
On Friday in our Assembly, our golden
awards were presented to: -

We are very sad to be saying “goodbye” at
the end of this term to Mr Hatjoullis. Mr
Hatjoullis teaches in Year 4, in class 4S.
We wish him every success in his new job.
Mr Smith, who currently teaches in Year 6 in
the mornings, will be 4S’s new classteacher from
January and up until the end of the summer
term. Mr Smith is a familiar face in our school
and a very good teacher. He will be spending
sometime with 4S and Mr Hatjoullis to make
sure the children in 4S have a smooth transition.
In January, we will be welcoming a new Assistant Headteacher,
Mr Richard Maiden, an experienced teacher and school leader.
Mr Maiden will be working part time in Year 6 initially as well as
helping Mrs Boughen and Miss Cronshaw to lead the school.
In addition, Mrs Amanda Pearson will be joining us as Inclusion
Manager. She is also a highly experienced teacher and a school
leader with expertise in Inclusion. We are looking forward to
having both of them join our team.
