Advent Prayer
Loving God, through your prophets and holy men and women, you spoke to future generations of our need to prepare our hearts. Bless the holy men and women who are the prophets of our day. As we look to your Son's Second Coming, may we be always aware of your power to shape the future. Amen
Recommended Reads
Help support your child's learning by encouraging them to read widely and independently at home. Every week college staff and students will recommend a book for Key Stages 3 and 4. Many of these books can be borrowed from the school library.
KS3 - All Hallows is welcoming a visit from local non fiction author John Malam after Christmas to run workshops with Year 8. Why don't you find out more about him by reading one of his books? He has written a range of biographies on influential people including Florence Nightingale and Leonardo da Vinci. He has also written lots of factual history books and books about mythology. Look in the library for his books and watch this space for more details if you want to come and meet the author! Miss Stebbings, English depart-ment
KS4 - The 'Gallagher Girls' series is based around a teenage spy, Cammie Morgan. She's born into the life of a spy and attends the Gallagher Academy - an undercover spy school for girls. Her dad died on a mission as a spy and her mum is Headteacher of the school. She relies on her best friends for support: Bex, Liz and Macey. She also has a love/hate relationship with Zach. It's a book I couldn't put down and I have read the series several times. Rebecca Lynch, Year 9.
