Mr. Nishimoto began his teaching career 43 years ago. Over the years
he has claimed Luke 2:42, which describes the way in which Jesus grew
as a child, as a model for his teaching. His quiet, compassionate ways
have inspired young people as he guided, taught, prayed for and walked
alongside students in kindergarten, first, second and fourth grades.
Students have not only learned skills such as reading and writing,
adding and subtracting, but even more precious, they have had a daily
example of one who walks closely with the Lord and joyfully serves.
This man has been a blessing not only to his students, but to their
families, as well as to those who have had the privilege of working in
collaboration with him. Although he will no longer be teaching, he will
continue his service to the Lord through ministry at Magnolia Baptist
Church…and is ready and willing to go where he is called.
“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom should I send? And
who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8
With a special Retirement Celebration
where students and friends came to wish
Mr. Nishimoto well and share a hug or two!
I want to thank my GCS friends,
colleagues, current and past
school families, and former and
current students for making my
retirement celebration memorable!
Thank you for the cards, letters,
gifts, and especially for the
words of encouragement as God
moves me into His next plans for
me! I am sad to leave GCS, but I
am excited to see where the Lord is
leading! THANK YOU ALL!

Kindergarten is an eventful year full of firsts!
To celebrate this year, the kindergarteners

Grace Christian School song…all about how
GCS has been a place where they have learned
to live, give, share, and care! Families were
spoiled with all kinds of delicious treats and had
some good ol’ silly fun at the photo booth!

Cub Scout Pack 611 would like to extend a great big thank you to all of you who supported
the scouts by participating in the BBQ dinner fundraiser! And we would like to thank
you…Cub Scout Pack 611 for preparing and cooking such delicious meals, and giving families
a night off from cooking and an opportunity to eat and visit with the school family.
What an amazing evening…to celebrate a
fantastic year! Our student’s talents were
showcased and they were able to share,
with family and friends, their classrooms
filled with projects they had worked on
throughout the year. There were also
performances from our Instrumental and
Choir groups, as well as some truly
spectacular items up for auction.

At GCS, safety is of the utmost importance to us. We strive to do all we can to ensure that our students are
not only safe on campus, but that we do what we can to equip them with the tools they need to be safe off
campus as well. We were blessed with the opportunity to be able to invite our parents on campus to
participate in an Internet Technology and Security Meeting, and then offer a second age appropriate class
to our Junior High students. Our parent meeting was conducted by Investigator Sandy Longnecker of the
Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Orange County Child Exploitation Task Force and Special Agent
Monica Abend from Homeland Security Investigations, Orange County Child Exploitation Task Force.
The Junior High presentation was conducted by Special Agents Ron Perez and Dave Asbury of Homeland
Security Investigations, Orange County Child Exploitation Task Force. Topics of discussion included
cyber-bullying, online predators and prevention, as well as being aware of who and what is on the internet
and social media. Eyewitness News Channel 7 was also present at the meetings gathering information to
include in their news report Orange County Task Force Battles Cyber Predators, Child Pornography.

What a comfy day at school…GCS kids showing off their spirit sporting their jammies!
The GCS teachers and staff would like to send out a Great Big Thank You to the
PST members for spoiling us during Teacher Appreciation Week.
You were so generous with your time and talents. Lunch was enjoyed by all…as were the snacks,
baked goods and gift cards. We have all been blessed and will continue to be reminded of how you
showered us with kindness and love as we sip from our personalized coffee mugs and watch our flowers bloom in the amazing hand crafted pots!
One more Prize Day…

least $200 in Race For Grace donations.
We had over 100 students earn this prize!
They took an afternoon away from class
and got to have a pizza lunch, play laser
tag, hang out at the game truck, and
participate in booger wars!

Grace Christian School June 2016
All of our students at GCS are unique and have been gifted by God with amazing talents. Each year, we take the time to recognize each student for a particular character trait that is evident in his or her
everyday behavior and interactions. This month we recognized students whose last names begin with the letters N – Z. Thanks to all of you who were able to come out and make it a special day!
We were blessed to have the Valley Christian High School
Choir under the direction of Mr. O in Chapel this month. There was no doubt that these young people are filled with the Spirit and find pure joy in worshipping the Lord…and that feeling was
contagious! They had GCS students raising their hands, clapping, and singing right along.
Mr. O encouraged students to continue to worship the Lord in such a way that they do not worry about what anyone is
thinking….but rather live the life He has planned out!
We had the team from SeaCoast Church’s Children’s Ministry in Chapel sharing from the Bible the story of Ahab and Jezebel…and about
being content. However, you have not likely ever heard this story presented in quite the way it was presented in Chapel! They incorporated storytelling with singing songs using melodies from popular songs to bring the Bible to life in
an amazing way that had students worshipping the Lord while they giggled, clapped, danced, and
sang along.
“I have learned the secret of being content no matter what happens. I am content weather I am well fed or hungry. I am content weather I have more than enough or not enough.” Phil. 4:12b
Mr. Nishimoto has spent the whole year plating seeds in the hearts of his students. In Chapel, they sang songs and recited scripture about the truths of His Word and the foundation on which these children will continue to grow. Some of those precious nuggets
included, “Do right…since you love the Lord.” “Obedience is the very best way to show that you believe,” “Jesus has prepared a place for us and the countdown is getting closer everyday,” and “He forgave my sin and cleansed my soul.” And you could hear Mr. Nishimoto
sing right along with his students at his very last Chapel!
