On behalf of Norwich Door to Door, I would like to thank you for your support last year and we look forward to having you on our buses in 2019. We already know that the coming year will have even more demands on our services and we will be enhancing the offerings that we have to meet these November and December were two very busy months for Norwich Door to Door as we prepared the final fundraising acvies before Christmas. The Race Night proved more popular than ever, with ckets selling out way in advance. Once again, the West Norwich Lions did themselves proud hosng a very well run, fun evening for Norwich Door to Door. Fish and chips from local chippy Barres went down a treat and the evening raised a very healthy £950. Our thanks to the West Norwich Lions for the connued support. It was supported by the Norwich Community Choir, Queens Hill Primary School and members from the Salvaon Army Citadel Brass Band with all proceeds going to Norwich Door to Door. The evening raised in the region of £2,000. We would like to thank all who supported us in making the night the success it was. Special thanks to Birchwood Energy, Richard Tidy Wealth Management and the East of England Co-op for their sponsorship. The Christmas Hamper Raffle and Stall proved very popular this year raising £970. We would like to thank everyone for their very kind and generous donaons towards this. We received an incredible amount of food and drink items and were able to create ten lovely hampers. Thank you to Audrey Harnden for making delicious confeconary and an amazing Christmas cake and to the ladies who made the lovely craſt items. Finally, we extend a huge thank you to Leathes Prior Solicitors, our 2018 corporate sponsor. Throughout the year, they organised numerous fundraising acvies on our behalf, the most arduous and challenging being the Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge. They raised an incredible £4,000 for Norwich Door to Door! We are so appreciave of their support and commitment to us in 2018 and can only say what a pleasure it has been having them on board. … Terry! Otherwise known as Santa, our passenger assistant Terry volunteered his time over Christmas with the West Norwich Lions, raising much needed funds for a number of charities. You might recognise him from the concert at St Peter Mancroft where he also made an appearance.

LOOK WHO WE SPOTTED ….

CABARET

We are very much looking forward to an afternoon of mirth and merriment courtesy of the West Norwich Lions. The Cabaret and Variety Show is to be held on Saturday 16th February, 2pm at the Hellesdon Community Centre. The line-up includes singalongs, comedy, recitals and dance. There may even be a couple of familiar Norwich Door to Door faces on stage … Call us to book your place. Tickets £5 with refreshments on sale during the interval.

QUIZ & CHIPS

Put those thinking caps on! Our annual Quiz and Chips is taking place on Saturday 13th April, 6.45pm at Hellesdon Community Centre. This is a fun and popular evening for friends, families and supporters of Norwich Door to Door to get together. Quiz master Tim Simms will be back to test and challenge your trivia knowledge! Individual places or teams of 6 or less can be booked. Tickets are £8 per person and include fish and chips. For catering purposes, booking in advance is essential and late cancellations will be charged for. Please call the office to book your place and to arrange your transport if required.

COMMUNITY AWARDS

We are thrilled to have been nominated for the Team of the Year Award at the Stars of Norfolk & Waveney Awards 2018 and to have received a High Commendation for the category of Community Group of the Year from Broadland Community at Hearts Awards 2018. Thank you for the nominations and although we didn’t win this time it is a pleasure to see that the work we do in our community is recognised and that the people who so generously volunteer their time are acknowledged. Well done team Norwich Door to Door!

NORFOLK & NORWICH

UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Following a review of our services, we are pleased to announce that we will now be

offering a service to the NNUH. Please note at this stage it is a ‘one way’ only service and

we are unable to collect passengers from the hospital following their appointments. Please

contact the office well in advance of your appointment and we will do our best to accommodate you. Standard fares apply.

Marion Day Centre, run by Age UK Norwich is a comfortable, friendly welcoming place where a home from home setting for all is provided. It is a person-centred day care with a focus on supporting individuals who are living with Dementia. It is a relaxed and friendly environment where carers and family can feel confident that the people they support are in the right environment to flourish and feel a sense of belonging.

Norwich Door to Door is supporting Age UK Norwich by providing transport to Marion Day Centre. Please call us on 01603 776735 if we can assist you.

Supported by Age UK, the Harford Cinema Club is held on the 1st Wednesday of the

month, 1.15pm at the Harford Community Centre, Hall Road. Tickets are £2 and
