MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS EVENT You can be anything you want to be when your mind is healthy
DEMOPOLIS, Ala. — The West Alabama Mental Health Center will host a “Smiling
Faces Going Places” event at the Demopolis Civic Center, on Tuesday, October 27,
beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Did you know that one out of every five kids has some sort of behavioral or
emotional disorder? However, only one-third get the help that they need. This is why the
West Alabama Mental Health Center is making mental wellness a priority among
preteens and parents through the “Smiling Faces Going Places” campaign. Big Al will be
joining the Smiling Faces Going Places staff to help spread the news about mental health
issues at the first community-based event, Tuesday, October 27th, from 6:00 to 7:00 at the
Demopolis Civil Center. This event is for 4th through 8th graders and their families;
admission is free. Big Al hopes to see you there!
