They have invested three

pesos to address the

problems of drought.

MEXICO CITY

(24/OCT/2012.) - The

director of the Conagua,

José Luis Luege, said

three thousand were

invested 398 million

pesos to address the

problems of drought in

Mexico, which has left the

country severe drought

back and food security is

guaranteed. "We are

already out of a drought

risk and we can say that

over a drought situation

(severe) in the country,

thanks to the

normalization of the

rains," he said. However,

this does not mean that

the matter is fully

resolved, because it is a

problem that is solved in

the long term when the

restoration is achieved

hydrologic soil. Besides

that in America there are

exceptional drought in its

central region, which is a

vulnerable area for being

the largest grain

production in the world.

The head of the National

Water Commission

(Conagua) noted that

currently the average

level of the dams in the

country is 58.8 percent,

and although it is good,

in a normal year should

be at 64.8 percent as of

October. Although

normalized rainfall could

not recover the optimal

filling of dams, such as

Aguascalientes, Baja

California, Chihuahua

and Coahuila, among

irrigate crops, with a new

pattern of products are

water use of the vital

liquid waste, which is

The country has increased

its dependence on imported

grains. For this year it plans

to buy from abroad about

12 million tones, mainly

yellow corn and sorghum.

President Obama begins

a two-day campaign blitz

through eight states with

stops in key battleground

states Iowa, Colorado,

Nevada, Ohio and

Virginia.

The Obama campaign

apparently didn't look

backwards into history

when selecting its new

campaign slogan,

"Forward" — a word

with a long and rich

association with

European Marxism.

Many Communist and

radical publications and

entities throughout the

19th and 20th centuries

had the name

"Forward!" or its foreign

cognates. Wikipedia has

an entire section called

"Forward (generic name

of socialist

publications)." The

name Forward carries a

special meaning in

socialist political

terminology. It has been

frequently used as a

name for socialist,

communist and other left-

wing newspapers and

publications," the online

encyclopedia explains.

The slogan "Forward!"

reflected the conviction

of European Marxists and

radicals that their

movements reflected the

march of history, which

would move forward past

capitalism and into

socialism and

communism. The Obama

campaign released its

new campaign slogan

Monday in a 7-minute

video. The title card has

simply the word

"Forward" with the "O"

having the familiar

Obama logo from 2008. It

will be played at rallies

this weekend that mark

the Obama re-election

campaign's official

beginning. There have

been at least two radical-

left publications named

"Vorwaerts" (the German

word for "Forward"). One

was the daily newspaper

of the Social Democratic

Party of Germany whose

writers included Friedrich

Engels and Leon Trotsky.

It still publishes as the

organ of Germany's SDP,

though that party has

changed considerably

since World War II.

Another was the 1844

biweekly reader of the

Communist League. Karl

Marx, Engels and Mikhail

Bakunin are among the

names associated with

that publication.

East Germany named its

Army soccer club ASK

Vorwaerts Berlin (later FC

Vorwaerts Frankfort).

Vladimir Lenin founded

the publication "Vpered"

(the Russian word for

"forward") in 1905. Soviet

propaganda film-maker

Dziga Vertov made a

documentary whose title

is sometimes translated

as "Forward, Soviet"

(though also and more

literally as "Stride,

Soviet").

San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Barry Zito throws during the first inning of Game 5 of baseball's National League

championship series against the St. Louis Cardinals, Friday, Oct. 19, 2012,

SAN FRANCISCO — From

postseason bystander to

starting the World Series

opener. That’s how far Barry

Zito has come in two years to

resurrect his career. The

resurgent left-hander will

pitch Game 1 for the San

Francisco Giants on

Wednesday night against

Justin Verlander and the

Detroit Tigers. Manager Bruce

Bochy said Tuesday he will go

with Zito, who has turned

around his career this year —

and Bochy was eager and

proud to give the pitcher the

news, once they finally

connected that is. “I tried to

call him all day. He left his

phone at the ballpark, so I

couldn’t get ahold of him,”

Bochy said. “But he was

ecstatic. He was proud,

honored that we have the

trust in him to start Game 1.”

Zito’s stellar outing in a 5-0

victory on Friday night in

Game 5 of the NL

championship series at Busch

Stadium helped San Francisco

rally from a 3-1 series deficit

against the defending

champion St. Louis Cardinals

to return to the World Series

for the second time in three

years. Left off the postseason

roster for all three rounds

when the Giants won it all in

2010, Zito made a conscious

decision to find his way by

just plain having fun again —

forgetting one bad start and

moving on to the next.

Whatever he has done to

change his mental approach,

it has certainly paid off on the

mound. “It’s not important to

reflect right now. There’s

work to do,” Zito said. “I’m

going to be on the mound

here in the next 24 hours, so

that’s where my focus is at.”

For Bochy, leaving Zito off the

roster was among the

toughest calls he has made as

a manager. That made

delivering the good news

Tuesday so much sweeter. “I

couldn’t be happier for him. It

says a lot about his mental

toughness, his makeup,”

Bochy said. “I mentioned this

in 2010, it wasn’t easy not to

put him on the postseason

roster. He was struggling in

September. But the way he

handled it was so impressive.

He went out, I think he threw

a bullpen that day, and

throughout the postseason he

kept himself ready in case

something happened. He

didn’t hang his head and he

even threw to hitters.” It

doesn’t hurt that Zito now has

four pitches to baffle batters

aside from just that nasty

curveball that has defined his

career since back in the early

days of the Big Three — with

Tim Hudson and Mark Mulder

— across the bay with the

Oakland Athletics. “He’s been

through a lot, obviously. He

took the beatings,” Giants

general manager Brian

Sabean said of Zito. “He’s

always been a stand-up guy,

he’s never stopped working.

In his own way he’s never

stopped believing and he’s

made changes.

Organized effort to control the malignant effects of smoking, it was not enough. It is therefore

convenient to the strong component of social disease you have. The way to stop it is a process and

today is social maturity. The dynamics of intervention should be fed by its results. Morbidity

indicators, risks and epidemiological trends demonstrate the extent to which society is involved.

There is a body of evidence that links between individual behavior and the influence of the social

environment. There is also a Legal Framework Convention that Mexico has signed and will help

increase social pressure. Smoking is a serious illness that requires individual and social care in the

school age population since. Urgent to raise social awareness and maintain interest in care, the

extent to which they have warned those who have lost so health and wellness. Health professionals

attest disease, misery and death can not give give the authority for such care. In addition, there are

other professions should also be involved. It is necessary to innovate strategies to detail and test

cost-effective actions. We must address the implications of change for preventive purposes: to

adjust the concept is accepted smoking as a disease due to deviant behavior, individually and

collectively address the social disease risks and innovate strategies to promote health and wellness

from the standpoint idiosyncrasy. The joint participation of the community has its advantages.

Under the environment of harmony and good will is more likely to get the goal without them.

Books on tobacco

diseases are few and far

between, and this new

one by an expert from

North Carolina should

have a great welcome

from tobacco growers all

over the world.

A preliminary chapter

gives brief statistics of

tobacco areas and

production throughout

the world. The figures

given for the year 1955

show the U.S.A. to be

easily the biggest

producer with 2, 195, 788

Ib. ; China comes next

with 1, 610, 000 Ib., and

honourable places are

occupied by the

Federation of Rhodesia

and Nyasaland with 151,

725 Ib. and Canada with

134, 840 Ib. This is

followed by 3 chapters on

plant beds, on rotations in

relation to disease and on

breeding for disease

resistance.

Then comes the real meat.

The book is wide in scope

and "disease" is made to

cover also malnutrition,

physiological injury due to

climate, and genetic

abnormalities. The whole is

contained in 44 chapters,

each with illustrations and

a useful list of references.

Those diseases which are

of particular importance to

the North American grower

receive pride of place and

maximum attention. This is

generally bestowed in most

orderly fashion on

aetiology of organism

concerned, host-parasite

relationship,

environmental factors and

control. The nematodes,

especially the endopara-

sites of the Meloidogyne,

Pratylenchus and Ditylen-

chus groups, are dealt with

in detail, as are a very large

number of fungus

parasites, especially those

causing black shank, black

root rot, damping off and

sore shin. Bacterial

diseases occupy 60, and

virus diseases 66 pages.

The parasitic plants

broomrape, witchweed

and dodder and their

control also receive

attention.
