On the first day of the week, God began creation. On the first day of the week, God raised Jesus from the grave. On the first day of the week, the Holy Spirit descended on the newly born church. Every Sunday is special. Every Sunday is a day of the Holy Trinity.
PENTECOST SUNDAY May 24th
You will be given the
opportunity to make a special
Pentecost gift.
This offering goes to help youth activities and children at risk. One of the great things that
this supports is the Presbyterian Youth Triennium in which we have previously participated.
Father, Son and Holy Spirit, One-in-Three and Three-in-One.

I was talking to someone about a new Men's Bible Study and I said to him, "Well
if you don't start soon you'll have to wait until after summer because, you know how the
summers are in the church..."
His response was to say, "Chris, I don't think we should be using that excuse. We
keep telling folks it's ok to disappear during the summer-time, so you know what they
do? They disappear."
I'm pretty sure he was telling me that here at FPCQ we've gotten ourselves into a
sticky little self-fulfilling prophecy situation. That because we put things on hold for the
summer, and really don't do much in the summer once the VBS stuff is put away, we give
folks our implicit permission to take three months off from church.
Lisa stays busy, the kids go on great summer church trips (Great Escape/Thornwell/Montreat), but the
rest of us, we kind of shut it down, don't we?
This summer let's try to change things up a little here at FPCQ, let's make Sunday morning worship a
priority, let's start a Men's Bible Study (it's back to you RP), let's maybe have a mid-week meal with each other
once or twice, and let's keep getting together even though it's...no strike that...let's keep getting together, espe-
cially because it's summertime...
Blessings,
Chris
Father-Son Fish Fry May 13th at 6:00 p.m. An event that has become a tradition here, is occurring on Wednesday, May 13th at 6 PM. It is our annual Father/Son Fish Fry at the Hinson Lake Cottage on Lake Talquin. In addition to fried fish, there will be hush puppies, coleslaw, & cold drinks. All you need to bring is your son and his fishing rod. Boys can fish until their hearts are content!
All men are invited to join us!
It is time to register!
2015-2016 School Year
We will be offering Mother's Morning Out from 8:30am til
12:00 noon on one or two mornings each week (depending on
enrollment). The program will extend from mid August to
mid May (we follow the same schedule as the local schools).
Each day includes art projects focusing on fine motor devel-
opment, music and movement time to work on gross motor
skills, center time, story time, outside play, and of course
snack time. The Christian environment and lessons provide
additional life lessons in sharing and being kind to others.
Overall, it's just lots of fun for everyone! The class is open
for children ages 2 1/2 to 4 years old. Minimum
registration to offer the program is at least eight
children per class, with a maximum of ten per
room. For more information, please contact :
Tamra Erde at 875-3236 or 228-9085. Registra-
tion forms are available in the church office.
Welcome New Members
Roger and Patricia Scott!
