    GYAN TensionTension is the root problem of all the diseases. The moment one is in tension, one loseshis attention and concentration which also leads further to various physical andpsychological diseases. Some of the psychological and physical diseases could beanxiety, hopelessness, anger, head ache, depression, frustration, loss of memory, loss ofminds balance, blood clotting, high BP, palpitation, chest pain, heart attacks, chronicfatigue and even death. In today's life the tension might be due to the deal with high

    tech careers, fast paced business transactions, job changes, separations, illness,divorces, death of family member, financial crisis, failure in exams, etc. In today's fast

    life, the moment one gets up in the morning, his or her mind is full of tension to fulfillthe jobs and commitments for the day at any cost. The result is that by night he or sheis more exhausted and tense for the next day's pressure and the circle goes on like this

    weaving him or her into more and more problems everyday. He or she is least botheredabout himself or herself.

    Types of TensionThe three types of tension are Muscular Tension, Emotional Tension and Mental Tension.

    Muscular TensionMuscular Tension is related to the body itself, the nervous system and endocrineimbalances. These are easily removed by the deep physical relaxation attained in thestate of Yoga Nidra.

    Emotional TensionEmotional Tension arises from various emotional feelings which are sometimes more

    difficult to erase like love and hatred, profit and loss, success and failure, sadness andhappiness. This is because we are unable to express our emotions freely and openly.Often we refuse to recognize them, so they are reserved, and the resulting tensionsbecome more and more deeply rooted. It is not possible to relax these tensions throughordinary sleep or relaxation. A method such as yoga Nidra can calm the entire emotionalstructure of the mind.

    Mental TensionMental Tension arises due to the excessive mental activity. The mind is a whirlpool offantasies, confusions and oscillations. Throughout our life, the experience registered byour awareness is gathered in the mental body. From time to time these explode,affecting our body, mind behavior and reactions. When we are sad, angry or irritated, weoften point that condition of the mind to some superficial cause. But the underlying

    cause behind mans abnormal behavior lies in the increased tensions on the mentalplane. The main solution of all these tension is the meditation. Meditation is the science

    of relaxation which enables each of us to dive deep down into the territory of thesubconscious mind, thereby releasing and relaxing mental being.

    Symptoms of TensionSome of the symptoms of tension are as follows:

    Tension in the face, neck and back which can be quite painful. Aggressive behaviors by which you tend to overreact to situation. Cold, sweaty hands and disrupted breathing patterns. Negative frame of mind. Heart palpitations Increased stomach acidity Loss of appetite and weight

    GYAN How to beat this problem?There is no problem without a solution. Whenever we are faced with a burning problem,the need for a solution becomes urgent. In accordance with the depth of the problem,the search for a solution is equally strong. On the ground of spirituality, tension can beresolved by disciplining the mind and by purifying the soul. The talk of d isciplining themind seems so simple, and pleasant too. But the mind cannot be disciplined withoutmeditation. From the point of view of achieving freedom from mental tension, it is muchmore valuable to practice the technique of relaxation rather than merely talk about its

    necessity. As one cannot go on to the roof without first finding the staircase, it seemstherefore necessary to pass through a certain process to resolve the problem of tension

    for ever.

    What is that process?The answer lies in the technique of Gyan Kirans teaching, which proceeds as supplementremedy to your mind laying positive deep effect into your life. Through it, it is possible tobe free from both the internal and external factors of tension. Here is a bilateral way torecovery. Although it is beyond any one individual to remove the external factors, it isquite possible to reduce the injurious effect of the internal ones. The outer influences

    work only if they are supported from within. In the event of the inner causes beingrelieved, the outer influences are caused to be untrained. Those who wish to be free

    from mental tension should, therefore, concentrate more on the internal causes. Toextinguish the bitternessof inner passions, there is no other way except meditation.The inner causes clear themselves through the mind, through speech, through the bodyand through breath. The mind in itself has no flaw, but flaws are experienced throughthe mind. When the mind, the speech, the body and the breath are disciplined, theinternal passions start fading away. These can operate only in active personsconsciousness. The moment the nervousness starts, they become inactive.

    Meditation means the awareness. In order to grow your consciousness you should firstlydiscipline your mind by following the teaching provided by Gyan Kiran.
