April 25th marked the close to yet another successful show at Gates Hall! A rousing 621 patrons attended the 5 performances of Irene directed by Lois Fiegl. This rarely produced piece of musical theatre lit up the Gates Hall stage. Congratulations to the cast and crew of Irene on their stellar production!

Letter from the President – Carl Webeck As our 2014-15 season and fiscal year come to an end, there are a few important things that I cannot let go unsaid. First, our participants and volunteers have truly put in an incredible year. The performances are still in our hearts and the awards are still in our thoughts. Next, our Board Members have truly gone out of their way this year, with an astonishing amount of time spent at meetings, doing company work, and helping to keep Gates Hall up and running. Finally, it is not easy for me to imagine serving on this board without Ann Rhody. Sadly, she is not renewing her term as Treasurer. Ann is as impressive working behind the scenes as she is onstage. As a Board Member, Ann has assisted our organization tremendously and helped lead us through several phenomenal seasons. Ann has also helped The Gatesinger Company rejuvenate its shared interest with the Historical Society, as we have taken strides to work together for the benefit of the Hall and for community theatre in Pultneyville. Ann more recently took on the role of Newsletter Editor and has offered to continue in that role and some others. Next time you see Ann, please thank her for her dedication to The Gatesinger Company and Gates Hall!

The Gatesinger Company, Ltd. proudly announces the return of one of its “favorite sons” to the Gates Hall Stage on August 8th at 8:00pm. J. Michael Zygo and his wife, Jillian, recently completed a three-year run in the Tony Award winning musical, Once. Together, the Zygos have thrilled audiences from coast to coast co-starring as Robbie and Julia in The Wedding Singer, as well as Will Parker and Ado Annie in the National Tour of Oklahoma!. Mike has also performed as Drew in Rock of Ages, Huck Finn in Big River, and the Emcee in Cabaret. Jill’s credits include Fannie Brice in Funny Girl, Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun and Nancy in Oliver. Long-time theatre fans in Williamson may remember Mike in Guys and Dolls, My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music, and Oliver on the Williamson High School stage. As a Gatesinger Company YouTHeatre performer, he starred in productions of Once Upon a Mattress and Anything Goes. “I have loved performing ever since 8th grade when the late Richard Milks, my Williamson Middle School vocal music teacher, cast me as Peter Pan,” said Mike. Zygo has fond memories of growing up with an apple orchard in his back yard, the Apple Blossom Festival, and working summers at Motts. SUNY Geneseo, where he met Jillian Nyhan from Saratoga at an audition, also has a very special place in his heart. Mike and Jillian have been a couple ever since, and their proudest production is their daughter, Maizy, who made her debut in August of 2014. The evening concert is free to the public and will provide a wonderful opportunity to experience world class entertainment in our own historic Gates Hall - the oldest continuous community theatre venue in the United States.

Mike Zygo Returns to Gates Hall Free Concert: August 8th at 8:00pm
