A true haven for cycling tourism, Entre-deux-Mers now has a newweb site, ww.entredeuxmers.com.

Welcoming and easy-to-use, the web site follows new web site trends:large format visuals, shorter menus and intuitive navigation. Offeringan abundance of content, it delivers clear and concise information.

Its image library anddedicated press areaare two notablebonuses for professio-nals in the sector. Ahint of Web 2.0 facili-ties and original newsfeatures (such as thestonemasonry course, for example) add thefinishing touches to aweb site that is inconstant sync with therequirements of itsusers.

Gironde: using the Internet to getcloser to tourists

At the end of 2010, theGironde Tourist Board laun-ched its new web site,www.tourisme-gironde.fr,designed to accommodate

current ways of presenting information and new online behaviour. Inaddition to ideas for holidays, excursions and leisure activities, the sitepromotes countless recommendations and an entire gallery of 2.0resources linked to social networks (photo and video galleries, linksto Flick’r galleries, options to share content...).

Internet users can, of course, plan their holidays with access totourism offers available in the area, but can also locate them on aninteractive map and within an interactive travel planner. If you’rehaving trouble making up your mind, a travel suggestion tool willanalyse your preferences recorded in your “personal space” andpropose ideas for tailor-made holidays!

Another original feature of the website is that it will be progressivelytranslated into nine languages (English, German, Spanish, Italian,Portuguese, Dutch, Russian and Chinese). The different versions willeventually contain their own content, adapted to the requirements oftourists in their specific market.

In keeping with the latest internet developments and the expectationsof e-tourists, the web site constitutes an excellent resource for show-casing Gironde.

For professionals planning or hoping toplan trips to the Aquitaine region, theRegional Tourist Board produces a bilingualguide (French and English) constituting acomplete guide to the region.

The CRTA decided to centre this version on therequirements of tour operators in remotemarkets who need to become acquainted withthe main strengths of the Aquitaine offering. Withthis in mind, in addition to the unmissable tourswhich have been updated in the new version, theguide highlights four major themes specific to theregion (wine tourism, gastronomy, the Road toCompostela and the unspoilt natural environ-

ment) as well as “niche markets” such as golf, river tourism, the provision of wellbeing andcycling tourism.
