Parents Actions & Useful Dates

Road Safety/Parking

We are pleased to report that the majority of the gas works affecting both sites seems to be coming to an end. Thank you to everyone, especially Key Stage 1 parents, for coping during this difficult period. Our issues with dropping off/parking at Key Stage 2 however seem to be just as bad. The school have taken steps to inform the police who will be carrying out ad-hoc patrols and issuing warnings and notices to anyone parking illegally/irresponsibly. There is ample space around the school site for all parents/carers/grandparents to park up and walk into school.

The Academy will be featured in Friday night’s edition of the Halifax Courier as being among the highest attaining schools in Calderdale 2013. Once again 100% of our year 6 pupils achieved the expected standard in Maths and Reading in the summer term 2013.

5 Star Food Hygiene Award

Congratulations to Mrs Lawson and the kitchen staff at Key Stage 1 on retaining their 5 star food hygiene award which is the highest star rating achievable.

With the Tour de France fast approaching you’ll soon start to see posters and information around the borough to get people excited about cycling in Calderdale. The artwork will be based on the idea of ‘release your inner cyclist’ and we need your help to generate a pool of cycling photography for us to use.
