STANDING UP FOR CAMBORNE

Zoe FoxMebyon Kernow – the Party for Cornwall

Mebyon Kernow has selected Zoe Fox to stand for Cornwall Council. She has a very proud record of working hard for Camborne as a towncouncillor, in work, and as a volunteer with a range of local organisations and charities.

Zoe also knows that the role of Cornwall Councillor is not a part-time position. She says:“If I am elected, I will work full-time as your councillor to properly represent the people of Camborne Trelowarren.”

SUPPORTING PUBLIC SERVICES Our important public services are under threat because of massive cuts in funding from central government, and Cornwall Council is struggling to provide the services that people have a right to expect.

MK councillors are at the heart of campaigns to secure fair funding for Cornwall and to protect our public services from cuts and sell-offs to private companies.

Zoe Fox (see right) serves as the town council’s representative on the local NHS consultative committee, and has been prominent in protests against the privatisationof the health service.

A PROUD RECORD OF SERVICE TO THE LOCAL AREA

Zoe has personally helped hundreds of people in the Camborne area.

For a number of years, she worked as a youth officer for a locally-based charity which delivered an education programme for young people who were out of work, assisting them to gain vital qualifications and gain employment.

She also served a local charity as secretary, which promotes literacy, early years play, educational opportunities and access to services in marginalised communities.

In addition, Zoe has also cared for a number of people and has experienced their difficulties in accessing local services.

A HARD-WORKING TOWN COUNCILLOR

On Camborne Town Council, she has served on the Amenities, Development, and Finance & General Purposes Committees. She has also represented the town on a number of bodies such as the Camborne Produce Market, the Mineral Tramways Partnership, and the Community Network Panel.

Zoe has been particularly active with her support for local allotments. She proposed the new lease of 25 years for Enys Road allotments, which will safeguard the future of the site and enable the produce association to raise its own funds and operate independently. She is also supporting similar efforts to safeguard Pengegon allotments.

Zoe has taken a lead in many environmental and community issues. She has championed bodies such as The Sustainable Trust and Kehelland Horticultural Centre. She has also lobbied for more dog-bins and improved footpath maintenance, and has initiated and taken part in local estate clean-ups and litter picks.
