This month’s cloze test is based on a rather strange story from a previous Strange World page. We’ve made it a bit trickier by taking out 8 words. This is called a cloze test. Read through the words first and make sure you understand them. Then, read through the article. Make sure you think about the best place to put a word, not the first place. Careful as you go, as some words may fit in a few places, while other words will only suit one place.

MONKEY-ING AROUND … ON A BUS!

If tigers and goats can become _________, then surely a monkey can drive a bus, right? This seems to have been the case recently, when a small (and we must add, rather cheeky) monkey decided to try his hand at being a bus _________.

When the driver of a bus in the city of Bareilly, in Northern India, __________ to take a nap between shifts, little did he realise he was being watched- not by his boss, but by a scheming monkey! As the man snoozed, the monkey ___________ the bus, turned the key and put the bus into gear. When the driver awoke to a rumbling

bus, he spotted the monkey making ___________ escape. The driver ___________ to stop the bus before anyone was ____________. The bus did, however, run into two other buses parked at the bottom of the hill. The police fear the monkey was driving without a ____________!
