of Mechanical Engineering and Naval
Architecture, University of Zagreb, Croatia.
Mr. Miksic, CEO of Cortec Corporation
as one of Croatia most successful
businessmen and candidate for Croatian
Parliamentary Elections 2011 was invited
to give lecture to students and professors
about how to build a world class company
and have fun in life. After an introductory
speech of Faculty Dean, Ivan Juraga, Mr.
Miksic as a former student of this University
has advised current students on numerous
subjects like starting a business, facing
various challenges, as well as on trends
in the industry, market positioning, and
implementing acquired knowledge in practice.
After presentation, constructive discussion was
led on a wide range of topics, among other
things about economical situation today in
Croatia and the world. Numerous students
gathered, asked Mr. Miksic questions about
possibilities for engineers in Croatia and abroad,
wanting to know what were the most important
factors for his success. They also wanted to
know about future plans concerning his political
