Raise Up Teacher Teams and Training Schools

Prior to formation of an army, every soldier must be appropriately

equipped, be it in terms of discipline, physical strength and weaponry.

Training is needed in each area. Likewise for God’s army. Therefore, the

mission of the Equipping Department is to build and equip the spiritual

Great Army, to cause them to be skilled in God’s Word, having spiritual

equipping, disciplined, strong in spirit, skilled in the use of all the spiritu-

al weapons, and walking with the Holy Spirit. The purpose of God calling

and raising up GA611 BOL is to raise up a great army of disciples! We

anticipate the formation of the Gospel Army, Pastoral Army, Power Ar-

my, Worship & Prayer Army, and the building-up of the 300-prayer war-

riors, thus allowing the revival to come upon the church, cities of Malay-

sia, SEA and even upon the world.

Education & equipping play an important role in the church. A strong

church is made possible when there are many God-fearing disciple lead-

ers arising, and who in turn will first need to be cleansed and equipped

with God’s Word, having both the Holy Spirit and Truth. When the Word

of God is taking root in a person’s life, he/she will possess the God-given

authority, thus predisposed to have victory in the battle. Education&

Equipping Department is the

platform to train up such lead-

ers, allowing God’s truth to

break every mind-set bondage

thus causing the spirit man to

grow. Such leaders will be

trained as future teachers, em-

powered to develop by them-

selves various teaching courses. Apart from benefiting the body of Christ

at large, the teachers will be the greatest beneficiaries as these courses

so developed are a projection of their Godly life. The more they teach,

the greater the anointing.

The capacity of the current Education & Equipping Department is no

longer limited to equipping students, but to raise up pastoral co-workers

who not only can teach, but also being teachers who can compile new

teaching materials. It is my hope that our pastoral co-workers can be so

built up, knowing God’s will, carrying the vision and mission of the

church, thus allowing God’s Kingdom to come and transform the land.

We look forward to raising up many teachers, starting with the current

team of pastoral co-workers, then extending to include brothers and

sisters, all becoming faithful leaders able to teach others, thus ensuring

God’s truth to passed forward to generations, and extending the King-

dom of God continually. ■

Do You Understand The Miracle of God?

Essence of Sunday SermonEssence of Sunday Sermon

Mark 8: 1-21 ◎Ps. Sarah Chang

I. The Occurrence of Miracles (Mark 8: 1-9)

Miracles refer to signs, marks, etc. Jesus performed the miracle of

five breads and two fish. Why would miracle happen again?

i) Out of Mercy (Mark 8: 1-3)

Jesus pitied the crowd who had no food to eat. He realized their

needs and took the initiative to provide for them. Jesus knows

and He feels for our needs.

ii) Out of the Spirit of Giving (Mark 8: 4-5)

The source of provision often comes from God’s mercy, but it

also requires cooperation and the giving from others. God is

able to create things from nothing and through our limitedness,

His infinity is made manifest.

iii) Out of Obedient Waiting (Mark 8: 6a)

Often, God wants us to wait patiently, to listen to His instruc-

tions and not to rush upon our own intelligence and capability in

doing things. When God’s time is here, He shall bestow the mir-

acles.

iv) Out of the Obedience of the Disciples (Mark 8: 6b)

We ought to be obedient disciples and learn to hand over the

limitedness of our hands to God. Then we shall receive and pass

on God’s abundance, allowing miracles to happen recurrently.

2. The Absence of Miracles (Mark 8: 11-13)

The Pharisees did not believe that Jesus came from God. They

opined that Jesus got his power to do things from the king of de-

mons and as such they asked him to perform miracles in order to

test him. Jesus had performed countless of miracles on earth but he

refused to perform them before the wicked and adulterous genera-

tion. If there was, it would be a miracle of a different nature, like the

miracle of Jonah (Matt. 12: 39). Jesus used something similar to talk

about him being the word becoming flesh, that he would soon be

crucified for man, and then be resurrected on the third day.

3. Things Which Prevent Miracles from Happening (Mark 8: 14-21)

i) Spirit of Religion – the Yeast of Pharisees and that of the Hero-

dians (Mark 8: 15)

Yeast refers to evil and corrupt things and teachings. The teach-

ings of Pharisees emphasize on outwardly manners and are full of

hypocrisy. On the surface is a love for God but yet they are cor-

rupt on the inside. Whereas the example set by the Herodians is

a worldly one, encouraging an existence for fleshly matters, a

love for the world and for lust. God is nowhere in the centre of

their existence and as such they are unable to stand on firm

foundation (Mark 6: 20)

ii) A Foolish Heart (Mark 8: 16-21)

When our views on the material things are too set, so much as to

blind us from knowing spiritual matters, this becomes foolishness

in our heart. A stubborn spirit looks but do not see, hears but do

not listen, and they forget as soon as they turn around. We

ought to rely on God to remove the foolishness in our hearts and

to pursue spiritual matters diligently so that in our path of fol-

lowing God, we are able to know His will more intimately. ■

Prayer FocusPrayer Focus Preach the Gospel to All Creation

Pray for the Passover evangelical event entitled “It’s over, it’s finished”. Pray that God will help all who are involved in the drama performance, and grant anointing to the backstage crew who are in charge of strate-gizing and executing. May all of them be protected from the enemy’s attack. Also, do pray for a great harvesting of souls.

Pray that God will grant our church leaders the spirit of wisdom and strategy, as well as preserve unity and love amongst one another.

3. Daughter Churches Proclaim that the blessings of Isaiah 61:1 will flow to all daughter

churches. May we receive the Holy Spirit’s anointing this season, and spread the gospel of God’s kingdom. Let us heal and deliver those in need with God’s authority.

4. Nation Pray that God will protect our country from the terrorism of ISIS, and

grant our government the wisdom and justice to take precautions.

5. Individual Pray for the Holy Spirit to reveal to us a person to preach the gospel to,

and grant us the courage to do so.

Materials for this week’s altar building:

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all crea-tion. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” (Mark 16:15-18)

1. Israel Pray that God will provide the Jews who want to return (Aliyah) to Israel

with sufficient funds, especially Jews from France and Ukraine. Pray that God will grant wisdom to the leaders from various countries

who will be involved in the Iranian nuclear negotiation. May God take charge of the negotiation process and stop the development of Iran’s nuclear weapons. Also, may God personally secure the safety of the Middle East.

2. Church Pray for God to anoint our church with His love and power through the

Holy Spirit, so that we’ll be able to preach the gospel to people from different areas.
