Message from the Chairmen: Welcome to MERC! This unique course will provide an outstanding opportunity to advance your knowledge and surgical skills through didactic lectures, case-based discussions and hands-on practical exercises in a cadaveric setting. Faculty selection includes recognized neurosurgeon and orthopaedic leaders who are eager to share their knowledge and experiences. The course will concentrate primarily on concepts of spinal balance and how they apply to everyday practice. At the end of this course participants will gain a better understanding of how spinal balance parameters affect overall sagittal and coronal balance, how sagittal balance is measured, and how those calculations are applied to clinical practice. Participants will also gain a better understanding of how pre-operative planning affects the choice of surgical deformity correction techniques and how to perform the latest open and minimally invasive surgical techniques for restoring sagittal/coronal balance through hands-on exercises led by the faculty. We hope that you will consider registering for this course and sharing this opportunity with your colleagues.
Target Audience: Enrollment in this course is open to practicing orthopaedic and neurological spine surgeons.
