Singapore (May 28, 2013) –Marina Bay Sands welcomed Spanish football club Atletico Madrid for a visit of the Sands SkyPark on 22 May. The players made a trip to the integrated resort as part of their whirlwind tour around the city.

Fresh off their Spanish King's Cup victory, the team comprising top-notch players in the revered world of football such as defender Juanfran Torres, captain Gabi Fernandez, Arda Tura, Tiago Mendes and star striker RadamelFalcaovisited the Marina Bay SandsSkyPark where they were treated to breathtaking views of the Singapore skyline.

Atletico have won La Liga on nine occasions and the Copa del Rey on ten, including a double in 1996. In Europe, the club has also won the Europa League in 2010 and in 2012, and won the UEFA Super Cup in 2010 and 2012. Their latest victory was on 17 May when they beat their city rivals Real Madrid 2-1 in Estadio Santiago Bernabeu to take home the Copa del Rey trophy.
The team was in Singapore in support of the Singapore Olympic Foundation - Peter Lim Scholarship. Events included a mass game with 128 primary school students on 21st May, and the Singapore Olympic Foundation Peter Lim Charity Cup match between them and the Singapore Selection team on 22nd May. Marina Bay Sands is fast becoming a hotspot for international superstars and world-famous athletes, having previously hosted PSY, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Tiger Woods, Zhang Ziyi, Katy Perry, Rain, Shah Rukh Khan, boxing phenomenon Manny Pacquiao, ATP players JankoTipsarevic and Kei Nishikori, football legends Pele and Eric Cantona, Liverpool FC players and NBA player Kobe Bryant.
