The Troy
Newcomers Topics
Gail Trendler, President My term as your President is coming to a close and I would like to express my sincere pleasure and enjoyment in being able to serve such a great group of women. The terrific women who serve on the board have made the job of president so much easier. Their experience and insight have been invaluable. I joined the Newcomers after my retirement from General Motors in 2014. Little did I know that joining the golf league would lead to joining the bowling league, attending the monthly luncheons and holding the board positions of Recording Secretary, 2nd Vice President, Luncheons and finally, President.
I will be continuing on the board next year as the Advisor and will do my best to mentor and support our new President, Jill Miceli, as I’m sure all of our members will, too.

October Social
Are you ready to Laugh?
Social for men and women - October 11, at 7:15pm at Mark Ridley’s Comedy Club to see
Kathleen Madigan. Kathleen is a comedian who will make you laugh! She has the ability
to relate to her audience and see the humor in life. Kathleen’s shows sell out quickly, so I
checked for availability.
Since her tickets were already almost sold out, I only purchased 14 tickets. The Cost is
$40.18 a person, and you can email me at [email protected] to guarantee your seat
at this event, and I will send you a confirmation email with complete details on our fun
event.
If you have not heard of Kathleen Madigan, I have attached a link that you can go to hear
her comedy. Have fun!

certainly miss you ladies and our interesting discussions.
Hopefully I will be able to attend the June meeting before we are leaving for Germany a few days
afterwards.
Carolyn Simmons offered to take over the book club for the upcoming year. Please support her as much

Scrapbooking Denise Matthews, Activity Leader
For the past 4 years I have enjoyed starting up and being the activity leader for our scrapbooking group.
In the upcoming 2019-20 club year the scrapbooking group will be led by Debbie Risko. I still plan to be
very active in the group and come to as many meetings and events as possible. As a heads up, Darcel
Connors is getting a group together for our annual outing to the Country Crop Inn in Croswell, MI. The
dates are Oct 4-6. More info on this fun event to follow.
I hope you all have a wonderful summer filled with adventures and good times with family and friends.
Don’t forget to capture those memories in photos that can be made into pages to fill your scrapbooks.
And I’m looking forward to hearing about Debbie’s plans for our group at the Newcomer Kick Off Night
this fall, hope to see you there!
