Sean and Renee have a lot planned for this next year. They will go over some of the plans at the meeting Tuesday September 8 at 7:00 pm. Sean and Renee have a great fishing trip planned from the bank fishing for Coho salmon. This is near Hammond, Oregon. Location I believe is Fort Stevens State Park. If the parking area is in the state park will require a $5.00 daily use fee. We will try to send out a map. Renee said to bring hip boots or chest high waders. You will need to wade out a short ways. Have a chair that you can set on the edge of the water. It is a good idea so you can take a short break and still keep your spot. This bank fishing area is a popular spot so getting there and keeping your spot is important. Be prepared for rainy or warm weather. This time of year it can be either. Most mornings on the coast are cool and then by 10:00 am warm up if it is going to be a sunny day. Wind usually kicks up around noon or after. Sean and Renee will discuss other plans such as food and drinks. We might need people to bring popup shades incase of rain or a hot sunny day. The seven day forecast as of Friday 9/4 shows Sept 12 will be a sunny day high of 71 degrees. Wind at 10mph by 11:00 am. Only a 1% chance of precipitation. _________________________________________________________________

Some great tips to use for current fishing for Salmon:

VIP Outdoors shows you how to tie/assemble a spinner for trolling salmon in the NW. This will help with the up coming meeting making spinners. VIP is making spinners for trolling. Sean and Renee will be making weighted spinners. You can also put a mooching lead ahead of a trolling spinner to cast it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2op-2PbDls8&feature=youtu.be Simon Wobbler Backpack Demo

Stabilizes Wobbler and gives you a way to add scent to the Wobbler. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4gVpXd9V0I Cameron Black explains "How-To" | Wobbler Fishing With a Simon Wobbler Bobber for Chinook Salmon Great information if your thinking of Wobbler fishing or want some new techniques that produce. The 3 x 3 x 3 setup with a Wobbler float. Takes some of the guess work out. Floats come in red or chartreuse There is also a larger float for bank fishing Wobblers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9xUt1NVT1E *Twitching Jigs for Coho - Learn how to twitch jigs on the Humptulips River on the Olympic

Peninsula in Washington. Josiah Darr of Clackacraft, Jared Cady, Brandon Glass and Jerid Doering hunt down November Coho in one of the Northwest's premier small streams. I think this method will work

great for Willamette River Coho right out of Newberg. I plan on trying it this Oct.
